Hi I´m Flo from Austria! Its been years since I used couchsurfing. But this year I am planing to travel more so here I am:) Back then I asked a friend to write a summary about me. Its now 5 years old but I guess things haven´t changed that much. We all basically get older and (hopefully) wiser.

Here is what my friend wrote:
Florian Schmidt is a 24-year-old boy, born in Linz. We got to know each other at the
table tennis club Linz AG Froschberg and since then we have had countless great adventures. As
mentioned, table tennis is one of his hobbies, besides traveling, spending time with his friends, pickles, wakeboarding, longboarding, drawing and listening to music. Especially
about him is not to be talked into anything by anyone, but to do his own thing. When he sets his mind on something it is difficult to stop him from doing it and it is advisable to let him have his way. It is never boring with him, because you never know what will come to his mind next and therefore he always manages to
to surprise (annoy) his fellow men over and over again. One of his strengths is
that the people who are important to him can always rely on him when it is dicey, if not then his daily condition counts. Especially difficult for him is the current time with the continuing travel ban in pretty much all countries, since it belongs to his passions to discover new things, to experience people and cultures and to feel the freedom.
However, he will also survive this difficult time and will
and will certainly know how to find something else to do (Star Wars picture for Robert?).
Until then he should keep his Schmidtines and make us all happy with her again soon

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I visit other countries I ´d like to see it through the eyes of its people. It´s fun connecting with people from other cultures to expand my horizon. Sharing stories, chokes and viewpoints with locals is a very valuable experience!

So I´m not here to save money, I´m here because I want to get more out of traveling! I offer you me as a friend to have a good time with.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some favorite movies/series are Mad max, drive, sunshine, avatar, the expanse, better call saul, ...
Books: game of thrones, lord of the rings, The expanse and lot of history books or general stuff:)

Music: Depends on situation and mood. Mostly I hear electronic music but I love the vibe of latinamerican music likewise. I did bachata classes and like that aswell as dancing to simple beats like in techno:)

Sports: I love swimming, freediving, snowboarding, wakeboarding, running, soccer, funsports like frisbee, slackline, ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

phuu already a few..here are some: living with locals in Capetown, diving in Comodo in Indonesia, traveling through Egypt during Covid, and spending Erasmus in Spain and Israel.

Since I studied media technology and design, I came in touch with creating games, animation, 3d, programming and lots of other nerd stuff. Right now I´m working in the field of 3D visualisation and motion design.
