About Me
Hey everyone,
my name is Florian and I am a computer science student from Dresden, Germany. I am back in my college town Dresden after spending the last half year in beautiful California and travelling the US for a couple of weeks. This is also where I made my first couchsurfing experience, and now I'm looking to give back to all you adventurous travellers out there until I'm on the road again myself!
On my resume I'd say that I'm a student, who's also working part time, but my heart and most of my time actually go to a non-profit in Munich, where we enable people to travel for free and raise money for a good cause at the same time. Go checkout BreakOut e.V., if you are interested!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Going to new places, I find one of the best ways to discover the interesting parts is getting in touch with locals who can show you around and point you towards all the must-sees and hidden gems.
As long as I'm in my hometown, I'd love to show people around and go show them all the beautiful places in my city, and I hope others might do so as well when I'm passing there city of choice :)
Interests
I love tech-stuff, I guess that just comes with computer science as my choice of study. Related to that I'm also active in the startup scene, where I particularly enjoy discussing and brainstorming new ideas!
In my free time being outdoors is the way to go, whether it is hiking, running or just strolling around a nice city. I also love to pick up a surfboard from time to time, even though I'm a bloody rookie and have to relearn most of the things every time I give it a try 😃

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music changes all the time, but for going out I prefer R'n' B & Hip-Hop, but also in my free time I love to listen some Beatles, Beach Boys or some laid back reggae and just have good time!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Doing a night hike to the top of Mount Agung on Bali to watch the sun rise over the ocean and the surrounding scenery. By far one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good knowledge of Dresden and it's surroundings as well as a good overview over the university it's campus. Because of my engagement in the start-up scene in Dresden I can also share some insights on entrepreneurship and innovation in Dresden.
