ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Florida, moved to NYC for a bit, then ended up on the west coast for grad school.

Just graduated from a masters of environmental studies program out in Washington state. Currently typing this description from a library in South Dakota as I drive out across the country to New York City where I’ll be leaving for a three month trip through Southeast Asia!

This is the first time I’ve used Couchsurfing since 2011 (long tome ago!). Most of the time when I travel I try to be on a bike, so I often use warmshowers.org (basically Couchsurfing for long distance biking), and have met a lot of great people through that! I’m hoping to use Couchsurfing as a way to meet people as I travel through Southeast Asia!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By surfing (of course) and, although I’ve been unable to host a lot due to traveling, I often try to help Couchsurfing guests at my friends’ places by showing them around! I feel terrible that I haven't been able to host more and thus do not have a lot of stellar reviews, but living with roommates makes it difficult to have a group consensus about having strangers stay in your home. I'm also away from my home for the next 5 months so sort of difficult to host while I'm not there.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Done a little surfing in New Orleans, Seattle and Vancouver B.C. Have met couchsurfers all over the country.
