Overview
About Me
I am a free bird, a nomad, I would like to just get a bike and go anywhere. I love meeting new people, listening to their stories, exchanging ideas, and discovering the local culture.
In November 2014 I've quit my corporate job. A couple of months later, my South East Asian adventure took shape. I've started my journey through beautiful Asia in Delhi, India (from Delhi to Varanasi), followed by Nepal (fortunate enough to see Durbar square in Kathmandu before the earthquake), Thailand (BKK and Koh Lanta), continental Malaysia (Langkawi, where I've lived for 5 months, George town/Penang, Perenthian islands, Cameroon highlands, and of course Kl), Viet Nam (Hcmc, Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, Ninh Binh, Ha Long bay, Ha Giang loop, Ha Noi) and Laos (Lp, Vv, Vientiane and some random villages)
My plan was to .... well, my plan is to no longer have a plan.
Ps: as I mentioned in my house description, I can only host one surfer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to discover new cultures, exchange ideas, meet interesting people. From time to time I also host couch surfers, when I am available. Try to stay local as much as I can.
Interests
I like sports, so anything related to that, makes me feel good (snowboarding, tennis, squash, football, basketball, swimming, ping pong, going out with the bikes, fitness - usually hiit or circuit training).
Want to learn how to kitesurf, surf, dive, and sail.
I used to go to lots of rock open air festivals, mainly in Belgium, Rock Werchter, but that changed since last year. Primavera festival in BCN was on my list.
Oh, and I could dance all night long on soul-funk music.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies I like: https://www.facebook.com/florin.teodorescu/movies . Wes Anderson is my favorite, so far.
Music I like: https://www.facebook.com/florin.teodorescu/music .
From electro, indie, funk, rock, progressive, psychedelic to jazz and balkanic music.
I usually read business related books, but sometimes I enjoy readings from Milan Kundera, Henry Miller, some Romanian writers. Happy to get recommendations on good books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
woke up today ;).
I guess doing the Annapurna circuit is on top of my list of amazing things I've done lately
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I can teach you how to snowboard, but that's a bit difficult right now (it's SE Asia). I might also be able to teach you how to kitesurf;))
I'm interested in new recipes and any advice about cooking :)
