About Me

CURRENT MISSION

looking for a place to head for. UPDATE: FOUND!

ABOUT ME

Hard to say - but i think a look at my interests and philosphy will give some idea.

If someone has interesting stories to tell and the way someone lives pleases me i can be a good friend. Besides that i like my rest and i love quiet places - but the rush of the awakening city too. I managed to make an Italian in Rome in a shop believe i was born in Italy, so much i felt at home in Rome. I like to not act and behave as a tourist but more as a local and integrate in the local life.

Working hard is one of my passions (sometimes too hard, then i really exhaust myself). I don't give up easily and am always looking for ways to solve a problem.

PHILOSOPHY

Just do it - and live it.
However this is sometimes hard for me, it is one thing i would like to live to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

During my 4 months trip through Eastern Europe, I used CouchSurfing to meet local people. After such nice experiences, I am definitely willing to offer my couch to travellers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed in France, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia, Romania and Poland and met so many very very hospitable and nice people. Couchsurfing really changed my way of travelling.

I left like a friend, when I came like a stranger!

Interests

The earth, in all its aspects. Good (pure) food. Nature, photography. Sustainability. Demolishing things, so i can fix them ;) Like my car. Walking and wild-camping. Mountains. France. Switzerland. Romania and the rest of Eastern Europe. Remote and abandoned places. Dirty small roads - winding up mountains to small cabins where the fire is on and life slows down.

What interests me is how a place can feel 'far away' from civilisation - even if it is geographycially near. From what things arises this feeling. I would like to meet people and experience how they manage to survive and keep up their living in small places.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Hiked 3 times for 2 weeks in the Alps. On my own and slept underneath a tarp. Felt one with the nature.
- Made people believe I was a Frenchman in France, a Swiss in Switzerland (by Germans) and an Italian in Italy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can learn you how to read the landscape and deduct the landscape-history from what you visually see. I have studied Physical Geography and can share some of the things I have learned. I can share you some of my experience as a mountain hiker and wildcamper.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine
