CURRENT MISSION

Leaving my forest mountain house in San Sebastian to hitch it to Barcelona, have a final hurrah for a couple weeks before heading back to Canada to get ready for Uni in Edinburgh this fall!

ABOUT ME

I´m a super laid back, fun lovin ol hippie from Vancouver Canada! love to travel and go adventuring.. doing things in a bit less than the normal fashion. Have spent the summer in San Sebastian living in a house that me and two best friends built in the forest, its been wild! Working as a promoter for a travel company, had the opportunity to join in many crazy festivals, its been one hell of a summer, back to Barca now before heading back to Canada and getting ready for the next stint of University.

Interests

I study Philosophy of Religion, about to enter a Masters course called Religion and the Sciences in Edinburgh in Sept. That `pretty much tells you what one of my favourite topics discussing is, I also am into alternative political/social movements and have worked many years organizing and mobilizing communities both internationally and locally on a volunteer basis, working towards a range of things from basic domestic development to democratic media culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love fantasy books but sadly have not read any in a long time for the guilty feeling I was recently getting, like I´m cheating on my homework of reading pages of dense philosophical treatises and analyses. However, now that I´m out of school I cant justify my lack of fantasy and I think now I will fix this problem.

Movies: anything Jim Hensen & Seth Rogan, most Tarantino, Terry Gilliam and Jarmouche. Also The Proposition.

Music: OH GOD. Varied! Sublime, Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, the Glitch Mob, Chinese Man, Kid Koala, Caravan Palace, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Queens of the Stone Age, the Pixies etc etc. Also I play guitar, sing, and write my own music! Let´s jam!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First glimpse of the Ganges in Varanasi. The sun was a bright red disc setting on a shiny misty pillowy depth of blues pinks and purples.

The feeling of accomplishing paid-for volunteer trips for students during my stint as President of a grass roots NGO in University. Reading over the trip report really brought it all home!

Aim to be a professor one day! Its crazy that someone may conceivably pay me to research write and talk all day about the things I find so fascinating in life! WHATUP.
