About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Well, I heard someone say once that the reason a particular group of people who will not be named are such successful networkers is because they never turn down a reasonable invitation that has the potential of being fun.

ABOUT ME

Do you ever wonder what your relatives will put on your tombstone after you die or if when you die you will die in a world that still has things like tombstones?

PHILOSOPHY

Why do I live my life? Because I am afraid to die, of course. I want experiences. Yes, I have feelings, perhaps too many. I have many thoughts too, some good, some bad. I generally think that each person is born with nothing except their body and mind and that each person should be free to do whatever said person wants for whatever reason said person wants to do it providing that, in doing those things, said person does not interfere with anyone else's freedom to do the same. I think the biggest “sin” in the world is religion or government's impinging on the individual’s personal freedom or moralizing an individual’s actions when those actions do not bring harm to anyone. I think wealth gained by a boot smashed down on the backs of the poor is a much bigger crime than things that are commonly criminalized. I don't believe in Heaven or Hell, but I wonder if there is justice or balance in the world.

Interests

I am interested in my cat, Kitty, good food, new experiences, late night musings and excited coffee-driven conversations, DIY ways of living, http://www.philosophersnet.com/games/god.htm, art, writing, feminist/queer/[assorted other] politics, personal histories, cultural perspectives, sub-cultural perspectives.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think it's amazing how people who you don't think are suffering, are indeed suffering, and how those same people can turn around and be the cause of other people's suffering. I guess I'm supposed to say something that is GREAT. I remember in Varanasi I saw a small boat on the the river that said "Ganga is our mother" in bright primary colors. I quite liked that and it has stuck with me. Varanasi is one of my favorite places in the world.

Countries I’ve Visited

Egypt, India, Malaysia, Netherlands, South Africa, Syrian Arab Republic, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates
