Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in Hong Kong, currently studying medicine to hopefully become a surgeon one day (that’s the dream!!) I’m an extroverted introvert. I love meeting people and making new friends. But I also have moments of nerdinness with my books and nat geo magazines. Although not much of a drinker myself (with my Asian genes), I like exploring bars and pub especially those with live music (and all that jazz!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Like many other couchsurfers, I love travelling. After hearing an amazing experience from a friend, I decided that I want to give couchsurfing a go as well. I would love to meet locals and experience their cultures from their perspective rather than to be “one of those tourists.” Even though travelling solo has a lot of freedom, it is also amazing to explore and enjoy a place with a companion!
Music, Movies, and Books
Jazz, slow and quiet music
I prefer documentaries. Huge Nat Geo fan.
Movies: 12 Angry men, Shawshank redemption, Dead Poet’s Society, etc (so basically older movies)
Books: Fahrenheit 451, The Giver, Just Mercy (by Bryan Stevenson)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I hitchhiked/backpacked, trekked glaciers for 2 weeks.
Tried bouldering/climbing for the first time in Yosemite National Park because of Alex Honnold.
Teach, Learn, Share
Currently learning ukelele
What I Can Share with Hosts
Living in a crowded city like Hong Kong is definitely something that I found very different from my travels outside of Asia. I would love to share my experience of growing up in a city of hustle and bustle, and our culture/identity under the heavy influence of both the West and the East.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Cambodia, Canada, China, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, United States
