About Me

I decided to be happy, it is excellent for one's health - Voltaire

I love the changing of the seasons, cycling, playing the guitar, singing loudly with my headphones on, laughing, sitting by the fire and watching the stars, the smell of freshly mown grass, nature, my comic book heroes Calvin and Hobbes...

Don't wait until the world discovers you,
but go exploring the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really love the initial concept of Couchsurfing. Right now I'm more sceptical about the new look and branding of the website. The homepage states 'stay with locals for free' and this doesn't cover at all what Couchsurfing is about for me.

Couchsurfing is about meeting new people, getting to know other cultures and sharing. A roof over your head to spend the night is a nice bonus. I do believe there are many like-minded people out here, so that's why I'm still offering my couch to surf on.

In the past, I had some great experiences, both hosting and surfing. I love it that when you arrive at a new place you immediately have some new friends. Especially for people travelling alone it is a great way to connect with others. I also like to host people who are genuinely interested in my culture or share some of the same interests.

Interests

My main interests goes out to music, adventure, sports, massage and food.

My daily dose of sports I get by practioning karate, cycling, running, walking, swimming or doing body weight excersises.

I have a passion for massage. Since two years I am learning about this.

You will find me almost every day behind the cooking stove. I really love to cook and to enjoy good, healthy food. Mostly I eat vegetarian or vegan and accosionaly fish or meat and always lots of vegetables.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My cycling trip towards the Gambia was filled with moments that rise above the average. Climbing peaks, meeting new cultures, fill my belly with delicious foods...

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want I can learn you some chords on the guitar or some easy massage techniques. Tips for saving energy and water, and trying to leave a smaller ecological footprint will be shared with much pleasure.

I'm very interested in learning more about different massage techniques and yoga.

I do love to share a healthy meal.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with my hosts the same things as mentioned above.

I would love to cook a meal for you and if you want I can give you a massage.
