About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover the world and help others do the very same.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Lansing Michigan and headed off to college in Grand Rapids MI. Moved from Michigan to Los Angeles a year ago to try to get paid to do something fun, so far so good!

At first I hated LA: The traffic, the pollution, the delusional yuppies who gag at the thought of picking up their dog poop... But I have learned to ignore the bad and love the good.

I love all the natural beauty California has to offer, and if you visit please try to get out of the concrete jungle and get to some of the states National Parks, they're amazing.

I also love my job. I get to help edit all those reality shows you love to hate. Working in Hollywood is just as strange as I'd hoped it would be.

I always get a laugh out of the strange places and people, which I guess is why I love traveling. The more different places are from where I live, the more I like it. It opens my eyes to the silly things that I do.

I am a firm believer that Americans should travel more!

A long time ago I noticed that life itself is pretty funny, and I've been in a generally good mood ever since.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't take life too seriously... you'll never make it out alive.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have an open door and a big empty couch!

I CS'd my way through Europe. Good times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted and been a guest several times with nothing but great experiences.

The idea of traveling between hostels filled with people from my own country always seemed silly to me.

Interests

I love to play guitar, going to see live music and music festivals, snowboarding, surfing, bonfires, camping and hiking.

Also love anything that will give me a good chuckle because my life revolves around funny people. I'm always up for a night at the pub too! (We don't all drink Bud Light... I swear)

I'm hoping to hear a lot of local music, or other random adventures non-CS travelers would probably miss out on.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Phish, Pink Floyd, Animal Collective, Todd Snider, Bela Fleck

Movies:
Gotta go with Forrest Gump

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to Nicaragua, which was probably the most amazing week I've ever had.

Skydiving was probably the most fun 10 minutes I've ever had.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn a second language. I took a French class in college, but failed horribly. I'll give it a second try soon enough, but French is hard!

What can I teach? I'm not too great on guitar but I can teach a beginner a chord or two or I can probably teach someone to surf... barely.
