Overview
About Me
I'm a recent college graduate, and working on editing my first novel while traveling. I love to dance, cook, laugh, draw, and make music. Trying new things and spending time with the people that I love are the highlights of my life. I'm a very social person, a pretty good cook, and someone who really enjoys coexisting with others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm going to be backpacking around for a bit before settling back with some friends in the Basque Country for a while, and I just really love the experience. People who are happy to open their homes to strangers tend to be really interesting, with unique views. I like cooking a nice meal for the person I'm staying with, buying some beers, and enjoying the company of a local I could not meet in a traveller's hostel.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to a lot of folk music (which I also write and sing!), but I also love funk, bluegrass, rock, and I'll dance to and enjoy just about anything with a good beat (especially Latin music).
Some of my favorite movies are The Grand Budapest Hotel, Big Night, and Thelma and Louise.
My favorite authors are George Saunders (Lincoln in the Bardo), Tony Morrison (Song of Solomon), and Neil Gaiman (Coraline).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been organizing community parades dedicated to Nonsense for the past two years, with handmade costumes, giant puppets, totems, flags, and with lots and lots of instruments/musicians. Following the pandemic, I felt as though the public streets in my country (USA) had lost an element of friendliness and spontaneity that it had always had. People were less likely to smile, or even look at you on the streets. So I started organizing grassroots parades that encouraged spontaneous participation, and brought them out to the public streets to bring some laughter and levity to these places.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would be happy to teach you some American folk songs/the Spanish language/a primer on Basque history/many other things I have some approximate knowledge of (see: ecology, mycology, plant/mushroom identification...) but on a more concrete level I am a great cook and love to cook for others. I would love to provide ingredients for and cook some delicious meals for us to share while staying with you. Does anyone like shakshuka, Spanish tortilla, roast chicken, beef stew, pasta alla vongole/assassina/pomodoro/etc,etc,etc...?
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cooking and cleaning. If by some chance you have a specific need for some visual art, or to have some writing edited, I could certainly help with that as well.
