I'm about to train to be a teacher but I'm dreaming of travelling. After spending a year in Spain, learning the language, teaching and volunteering on eco projects in rural Spain, I'm keen to travel again, leave my comfort zone, learn about other cultures, their languages and countries in which they live in.
I also love meeting people, exchanging ideas, culture and language.

I'm passionate about languages and people. I (try) to meditate daily and practice yoga. I'm also a (recently) keen cyclist who would love to do a world cycle tour one day (or at least a section of it!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the principle behind couchsurfing. From volunteering on camps in Gloucestershire that hosts WWOOFers, I have realised that spending time with travellers is a form of travelling in itself, another way of experiencing other cultures, by sharing with these people. Many of these volunteers (from all around the world) had used Chouchsurfing and recommended it to me.

I would like to host interesting people, especially those that speak the languages I have learnt and/or are currently learning. When I go travelling I want to use the website to meet up with locals to experience the country through the eyes of its people, not just see the usual tourist attractions.

Interests

I try to meditate and practice yoga each day, and usually manage at least one of them, if not both!
I am a language enthusiast. When I first started learning Spanish 4 years ago, it opened my eyes to new worlds and cultures. Since then I have also learned Welsh (the native language of my Country, Wales, and I am currently learning Mandarin)

I also love cycling and camping, and want to one day combine the two in a multiple country bike tour, camping along the way (with occasional stays with couchsurfing hosts hopefully)

I love Manu Chao, The Beatles, Morcheeba, My First Aid Kit, Buena Vista Social Club, to name a few.

I don't listen to music as much as some, as I love reading so much! Bernard Cornwell is a writer I like. Tolkien another whose work I adore. The Dark Materials was a series I loved reading as a teenager. And hundreds others in between!
