About Me
A while ago, I saw a statistic that I’m not sure whether it’s true or not, but it definitely is a thought-provoking topic that content has been created about. Although I don’t remember the exact number, it said that there are very few people in the world whose job is exactly what they dreamed of. I’m one of those people, and I consider myself very lucky. I love gaming, and that’s the most important definition I have of myself. Because so many people, especially men, once they hear this sentence, stop asking about other things and instead ask you what games you like. That’s when, through discussing our favorite games, we start to realize what kind of person we’re dealing with. I love board games, and my job is designing and developing board games, but I’m also passionate about video games, especially open-world and strategy games.
And of course, what helps me to introduce myself more to others is how much I love my wife. When it comes to love, that’s when we truly understand what kind of person we’re dealing with.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It all goes back to the language book. The first time I heard about Couchsurfing was there, and I found it interesting, wondering what exactly it was. I’ve wanted to try it for a long time, but I’m not sure why I’m afraid. Maybe it’s related to love. People tend to become more fearful when they fall in love. Anyway, here I am now, taking the opportunity to remove the biggest barrier to traveling, which is money, and be able to see and learn more and more before I die.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m not really into music. I usually listen to instrumental music. I like Hans Zimmer, but I don’t know why or how, whenever I play a song from 20 years ago, I end up singing along!
As for my favorite movies, I prefer to talk about the genre I like. I enjoy biographical films, and the more historical they are, the more I like them. However, the movie I never get tired of watching is Arrival. I also love the series Arcane and watch a lot of anime.
When it comes to books, I have to say I love buying books. I usually end up reading them, though. I’m very fond of Shahnameh by Ferdowsi. I adore the world created in the Shahnameh, and I also love all the other worlds that have been created. I prefer historical books over novels, and I’m more interested in knowing what really happened than understanding what goes on in a writer’s mind—although both are fascinating to me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’m always afraid of leaving this world without leaving something behind. That’s why I love designing games and writing. I believe creating and writing make us immortal. So, I think the most amazing thing I’ve ever done is designing a game based on Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh.
Teach, Learn, Share
Designing board games is a field where you always need to stay updated. That’s why I’m constantly learning new concepts and exploring different aspects of this vast world. Additionally, I also teach game design. Beyond that, I’ve conducted workshops on the importance of research and development in game design. These days, I’ve also started learning the fundamentals of writing in a more structured way.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Currently, my wife and I don’t live in Tehran anymore. Out of concern for the costs and pollution, we moved to a city in the Semnan province—Aradan, which is 20 kilometers from Garmsar and 130 kilometers from Tehran. In Iran, there’s a viral joke about Semnan that says Semnan doesn’t exist. There are many reasons for this, which you might already know, or I’ll explain if we meet someday.
As for what I can share, I know Tehran very well—not just its geography but also quite a bit about its history. The first thing I can do is share some interesting stories about Tehran’s history and culture. However, Semnan also has plenty of attractions and fascinating details I can share.
Here, you’ll find several historic caravanserais. Parts of the Silk Road can still be seen here. There are stunning deserts, especially perfect for camping at night. It also boasts salt caves and massive salt mines, along with many other things, including an amazing traditional food called Tahchin-e Garmsari.
Of course, due to my interest and curiosity about history, I also have a good amount of knowledge about the ancient civilization and rich history of Iran, which I think would be fascinating for guests to hear.
