About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Start the world-wide Dance Dance Revolution

ABOUT ME

I am a 24 year old student at The Evergreen State College (Yes the "The" is actually part of the name - how pompous and ridiculous is that?!) where I'm working to get my degree in history so that I can teach High School level History. I'm getting married to a lovely young Canadian woman (June of '08). Oohh!!! Looking forward to it but I hate the paperwork for immigration right now. I love to read, listen to folk music, etc.

PHILOSOPHY

Never let your schooling get in the way of your education - Mark Twain

It's important to treat people like people and to love them and respect them for who they are. Doesn't mean you have to like everything they do or tip-toe around issues all the time but respecting their space and understanding that THEY HAVE PLENTY TO TEACH ME NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Come fall of this year I'll have my own place at which time I hope to have any old person (groups of people, throngs...hoards?) crash. Until that time I'd have to run it by my current roommates but I'll try and if you can't get a place here in Olympia shoot me a message anyway and I'll help you find a place one way or another

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Failed to find a couch to surf and ended up sleeping in a little hobo camp in south London. Crashed on plenty of friends couches.

Interests

Books, bikes, folk music, meeting interesting people, stories, following Jesus and learning to loving people who passionately disagree with me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked at an industrial construction firm for 4 months working 80+ hrs a week so that I could pay for college. I put up wind turbans (yeah green energy!) and had to climb a 250ft ladder just to get to my workspace and was nearly pulled out the back of one by a run away cable!
