CURRENT MISSION
Give thanks. Have fun. Live a great story.
ABOUT ME
I lost two very important people in my life very suddenly and have come to realize life is too short and needs to be experienced so I packed my Jeep and started driving. I explored the US for 3 and half months, drove ~14,000 miles, managed to hit 27 states, catch up with long lost family and friends, make new friends, see 40 national parks, and learn more about myself than I thought possible.
I had a blast meeting other travelers and locals, all the while meeting myself.
I'm not sure what adventure awaits me next but I'm sure to enjoy it and love every second.
In 2016 I met an amazing woman, now married and we have two young awesome kids!
PHILOSOPHY
Embrace every waking moment. They are few, precious and fleeting.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
On my cross country trip there was camping, hosteling, one hotel, and some couch surfing, now that I'm back "home" I've opened my couches to surfers who may be passing through, excited to meet and host some surfers!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Oh man what a great time, so being new to couchsurfing during my epic adventure, I decided to give it a try, never once was there just a place to crash, there have been culinary delights, amazing conversations, mountain biking, rock climbing gyms, tea, photography, lots of great interactions with hosts, and their lives. I don't know how else to put it, it's just been fantastic all around, and exactly what I feel this site was created for!
As a random update one of my surfers put it perfectly one day: he said CS itself has a certain level of intimacy when you let someone in your space, or you're a guest in someone's space you just kinda skip the general societal BS and small talk and go straight to being real with eachother. It's beyond words awesome.
Single serving kindred spirits. Who knew.
Interests
Photography, seeing the sites, food, local culture, anything I've never seen before, meeting new people, tea, rock climbing, biking, travel, ink, not taking life to seriously, you'll never get out of it alive, and probably a million other things I can't think of now!

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to all music except screamo, excessively heavy metal, and classical I can only take in small doses. And I prefer lyrical jazz to non lyrical jazz. Typically I'm found listening to Country, Folk, or hippie dippie positive music, I prefer music that tells a story. Because what is life without a story to be told, heard, or lived? Repetition, that's dull. Repetition, that's dull.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've now seen the sun rise on the beach in South Carolina over the Atlantic and set on the beach in Washington over the Pacific.
I've done a ride along in a professional drift car.
Competed in rodeo.
Happened upon a white water rafting trip in Eureka California.
And many more random and exciting things.
visited 46 out of 50 states (92%)
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a little about a lot, and a lot about a little. I know food, fun, computers, fun..?
I learn something new every day. Every day. That's pretty normal for most people, but have you ever taken the time to think about what that actually means and embrace it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My bizarre sense of humor and my passion for turning the seemingly boring day to day tasks in to full on adventures.
And also my passion for living that GREAT story...
"And once you live a good story, you get a taste for a kind of meaning in life, and you can't go back to being normal; you can't go back to meaningless scenes stitched together by the forgettable thread of wasted time"
-Donald Miller
