ABOUT ME

Lately I've been describing myself as a nomad because of my tendency to get itchy feet, and in the past year since my move back to Europe have visited many cities and made my first trip to North America. I'm a bit of an observer, with a great fascination and interest in philosophy and art. But mostly what I love to observe is people... The wacky ones, the trashy ones, the brilliant minds, the business men and women, the lost youths. Because I guess I'm always striving to understand myself better.. and the more I look around me and the more places I visit and people I meet, the closer I get to even partly being able to answer that undefinable and unanswerable question of who am I. My Eastern routes make me a leftist at heart, with an easterners equal ability to hold their vodka or rakija ;) The West in me on the otherhand gives me an easy going attitude towards life and people.

PHILOSOPHY

Seek, learn, have courage, progress, and most importantly be in the present moment whatever it may be.

Interests

The good the bad and the ugly, or in other words more or less everything. I'll listen to an economist (for a while ;) because I find the things that I'm completely not interested in and the people who are intriguing in some way. I'm a cinema student though, so of course I like to watch and talk about films films films a lot of the time. I'm a geek in that way, but I also have a terrible memory, so you can catch me not knowing the film that you are talking about. But 5 minutes later, and a brief synopsis there'll be a .. oh yeah, I've seen it! I also would say that I have a fairly huge interest in dreams and the subconscious which makes up a fairly large percentage in all of us. It's a part of us which we more or less depending on the person tend to not focus on or think about too much. So that's kind of why I like to think about it ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Two of my favourite books are The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. These are then closely followed by The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera, and the likes of such books as 1984 and Brave New World.
Music that I like.. Well my favourite band is The National, and I will finally get to see them in August (YES!), I like Radiohead, Air, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Yann Tiersen, The XX, Warpaint, UNKLE, Susumu Yokota, The Doors, Bon Iver, Sigur Ros, Santogold, Royksopp, Portishead, PJ Harvey, Pixies, The Middle East, Massive Attack, Kings of Convenience, Joy Division, Jimi Hendrix, Flying Lotus, Bat For Lashes, Burial etc etc etc.....
Movies.. Hmm it's probably easiest to do this by Director..
Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, Ingmar Bergman, Won Kar Wai, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Akira Kurosawa, Andrey Tarkovskiy, Jean Luc Godard.
