ABOUT ME
Just moved to vancouver with my partner. Hoping to make the most out of all the outdoor activities at our new doorstep! I love camping, cruising on my bike and hiking, and I'm hoping to learn new things like kayaking and snowboarding.
Had recent trip to Spain to do El Camino De Santiago. Walked more than I ever thought possible and got to improve my Spanish.
I like to dabble in creative projects that I combine with travel.
My podcast from a couple of years ago: www.theresnoplacelikeit.blogspot.com
Also if we ever do couchsurf together, me at yours or you at mine, be prepared that i may photograph you for this project!

Music, Movies, and Books
I worked in a library a couple of years ago so I love books and reading, but I have had no time lately! Here are a few favourites: Augusten Burroughs, Chuck Palahniuk, David Sedaris, Clive Barker, Roald Dahl.
Movies: Night Watch, Mysterious Skin, Ju on, Battle Royale, Life is Beautiful, City of Lost Children, all Jeunet & Caro.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I thought that the Tarsier in the Philippines was pretty crazy. It's a cross between a bat and a primate, with frog-like hands, but it looks like a gremlin and it's the perfect pocket size.
Now that I've travelled more than that I can't really begin to narrow it down to one thing. But I went to a religious festival in Peru, where about 20 000 people from local communities trek up a mountain to dance and celebrate and gather ice from a glacier to bring back down as holy water. Looking out of my tent to watch mamitas wash their hair and feet in freezing water was amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can cook a few decent vegetarian meals, I'm an aspiring photographer so am open to tips and advice. I'd love to practise with native Spanish speakers.
