ABOUT ME
All about me? In this little box?
Well, for starters, I'm glad you're reading this. I'm a curious and relaxed guy with strong opinions and a good conscience. I love to laugh.
When I'm home, I love to hang out with surfers. I cook/eat food of all kinds and I'm always up for a conversation (usually about movies, garlic, or cats).
Some day I hope to have a keynote TED talk. I haven't had the idea that will get me there yet. My "dream" is to operate a post production facility for cinema and television and to be as active as I choose to be in those industries, having a hand in beautiful and interesting work.
PHILOSOPHY
Tell the truth! It simplifies everything. Other than that, do whatever you need to do to live happily without hurting other people, and never ever forget to be curious.
Check it all out.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted a lot in the past but haven't been able to lately. I surf whenever possible and always give folks pointers when they're in town.
With any luck, I'll be renting a car with some CSers this summer.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Yagil and I have been fortunate enough to host about a hundred amazing surfers in New York. I wish I had made my account sooner.
I've had a great time surfing across the states, in Canada, Chile, and Thailand. I'll be on the road again soon and I can't wait to surf!
Interests
I love world cinema and advertising, technology, and relaxing with friends.
I'm not competitive when it comes to games and sports but I really enjoy playing/watching.
When I'm traveling I always try to get a sense of the local art scene and try to catch a local sports match if there's one to see.
I'm happy with beer, but my preference is whisky.
I adore cinema, house cats, and lazy days in city parks. Museums are also amazing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Von Trier, Godard, Bergman, Kubrick, Jarmusch, and Lynch. (Dancer in the Dark, Notre Musique, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Down by Law, Mullholland Dr)
My reading time and my travel time are usually around the same time, so not much lately. I've loved almost everything I've read by Vonnegut. Good Omens by Gaiman/Pratchett was also great. At one time I was also a sucker for a good dystopian novel but I think that day has passed-- they just make me sad now. The last book I finished was Jennifer Egan's A Visit From the Goon Squad.
I listen to Animal Collective, Deerhunter, Grizzly Bear, Boards of Canada, Sigur Ros, Beirut, Black Moth Super Rainbow, LCD Soundsystem, Dr. Dre, the Beta Band, Joanna Newsom, and many others. My two favorite comp albums are Dark Was the Night and Jonny Greenwood is the Controller. There's usually Beatles or Reggae on at the house.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved to New York. I've known some truly inspired people, I've made friends wherever I've gone, and survived the end of the world. That's all pretty amazing to me.
Through CS, I met an Israeli-Canadian girl my age who, it turns out, spent childhood summers in exactly the same little out of the way town as me in upstate new york. The world is smaller than you think.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach people how to cook, but i've been known to show couch surfers how to digitally remove shadows from video projects or make cell phone ringtones-- come hang out and we'll see what we can learn from each other.
Fun fact: if you know me, you'll be able to read exactly how I'm feeling on my face. But I frequently surprise myself with what I'm thinking. So, so random.
