Crossing the Atlantic on sailing yacht

ABOUT ME

I just finished my studies in art history. Having enough of dusty (though interesting) books en dull thesiswriting I will be travelling for a year in the Carribeans and the United States, crossing the Atlantic by hitchhiking a sailing yacht. We'll be travelling with two persons (one male, one female) and plan to cross other's roads or walking them together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have been couchsurfing in Italy, Iceland and Sweden sharing dinner, drinks, walks, jokes, car trips. I like hosts who like to do or see something together, though I don't need a babysit.

Hosted some persons in my room in Ghent, which will not be possible the coming year since we'll be on the road.

Interests

Mountains, forests, lakes for weeklong trekkings.

Cities: spending afternoons in the park slacklining and drinking some beers.

I've been rockclimbing for two years and got the thrills for it. Hope to find some great climbing possibilities in the Carribeans or the United States and meet other climbers.

I'd like to learn how to surf and fish (with self made equipment).

My backpack contains a diabolo and slackline, both of which I can teach you how to use.

If you have a bike I can teach you who to ride it backwards sitting on the handle-bar (boosts your credibility when you go to the bakery).
