About Me

THIS IS NOT A DATING SITE, DON'T ADD ME IF YOU DON'T KNOW ME!

Hey friend! How are you?

How do I even start introducing myself? I could tell you all about my upbringing, age and everything else that is on my gov't ID, but there's much more than what's on paper in life. Oh, and my name is not Foodie. Find it in the references.

In 2007 (?), my mom created a CS-account. I was 10 back then and from then on, we received guests from all over the world and we visited others over this period. On my mom's account, we have over a few hundred references and in 2016 I started my own. As soon as I turned 18, I traveled as much as I could. I've seen Morocco, spent two months in Indonesia, visited Lebanon and much more is to come! You could say I'm a seasoned traveler. But I also go to uni and study Theology and Religious Studies with Arabic Language. Have you met a theologian before? I hope to work for the government or an NGO in the Middle East.

You can always wake me up for hikes, food (bonus points if it is Middle Eastern food) conversations about politics and religion. I am always in for spontaneous things! Invite me to your friends wedding, lets go jump off a cliff, lets swim with sharks and see what else the world has to offer. I can offer fun, but also interesting conversations, especially about religion (any world religion, but also specific Christian theology). Oh, and I can cook, but I'd rather have you cook ;p.

It is obvious that your request has to impress me. A 'hi, i'm in town, loved your profile, host me?' won't do it. There are many things in my profile that you can mention in your request. I opened up my profile to MAYBE accept surfers. If you dare to not - at least - mention my name, then you get an angry 'NO.' This is just a disrespect to the host and the Couchsurfing community. I hid a secret word somewhere that you HAVE to mention in your request. I can decline you if I don't feel like we'd get along or if you're vegan. Nothing personal, that's just how I roll. And I'd rather not host solo traveling minors. Legally, that's just a too big of a responsibility. So, the secret word, your request, our mutual interests and my schedule determine if I accept you.

IMPORTANT! I feel bad that this has to be said. Yes, I'm a Christian, but I love everyone in all shapes and sizes. Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, gay, queer, male, female, black, white, whatever in between, etc. Please please please, do not let this stop you from meeting me. Let's overcome the stigma!

Another important thing is that I am very intolerant for racism, any type of discrimination (even that of political thought) and especially of antisemitism.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing reminds me to clean up my room.

Interests

Politics, Middle East, FOOD (!), education, international relations, traveling.
The perfect night would be a night on a rooftop somewhere where the sun is about to go down, with people that I can discuss politics and religion with, AND of course my Lebanese bread with humus and kibbeh (oh and the latter - kibbeh - is the magic secret word)

In my house, there's freedom of speech and no political correctness (obviously, we do respect boundaries). Let's put each other's views to the test.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love relaxing songs, mostly ones to sing along with, but sometimes also exciting Arab songs that make me want to dance :-) But also French music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There was this one time in Indonesia during iftar where this whole Couchsurfing group including me and my mom went motorcycling through Jember and visited their friends. We'd eat and go to the next friend to eat again!
