About Me

I'm an open-minded back-woods country-boy world-traveler-student-teacher with an hopeful vision for paradigm shift in our time despite the enormous ecological challenges which face us.
Ever curious, I like to learn from everyone and everything. The World fascinates me. Let's do something together! How can I help you achieve your dreams?

Be the change you wish to see in the world.
There is no road to happiness, happiness is the journey.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, dedicated citizens can change the world, in fact, it is the only thing that ever has.
Tear down hierarchies; build up networks.
Eat, love, and live well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it is a lovely platform to get off the beaten path and find wonderful people with whom to share experiences, knowledge, and beliefs, and keep our minds open. A way to travel and not fall into the tourist traps.

Interests

The natural world and all life that dwells here, human politics/society/culture, sharing good food/medicine that I or people I know have lovingly produced or wild-crafted, relating symbiotically to the world, music, drumming, and dancing, breaking out of dualities and boring linear thinking, martial arts, reading, revitalizing the soil, dreams, wandering, wondering, pondering, growing... so many... the more I learn, the more I realize I don't know.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every time I look up from my home in Wisconsin into the stars I can see the Milky Way (assuming there are few clouds and the moon is not beaming too brightly down) and my mind is blown simply trying to comprehend that. There have been far too many times in my life which have taken my breath away to list here.

Teach, Learn, Share

~Experience and knowledge in permaculture and other organic and sustainable agricultural methods in several climates
~Training in Inayan Eskrima and American Karate/MMA
~Grassroots organizer/activist/advocate for environmental justice and local control of our collective natural resources. Community empowerment.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A chat, a meal, an adventure, a massage, a sparring match, practical skills, physical labor, a stimulating discussion of history, current events and future trends... what to say here... the possibilities are endless and depend on the person and wider context. I come to share time together on this awesome planet.
