About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore my own backyard....see the sites , meet new faces and laugh all the way home

ABOUT ME

I am a bit of a gypsy at heart....like the outdoors (hiking, rock climbing and camping), love the beach life both snorkling and trying my hand at surfing! I have definately been injected with the travel bug, I spent three years traveling the UK, travelling Europe, and now spending time discovering the states, Cuba and Central America. I try to make the most of each and every day, love a good adventure, a spot of dancing and good laughs. I am currently on a road trip around America with my father

PHILOSOPHY

Wake up with a smile....and the rest of your day will be amazing! Talk to poeple on the streets...they may teach you a thing or two you never knew! And never be afraid to be yourself...be unique and shine!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love recommending places of interest to first time travellers to Australia, Im always happy to meet up for a coffee or beer and showcase the Aussie culture in all its glory.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started Couch Surfing in August 2008 when I met a CS in Barcelona on my travels, she convinced me it would be a fun experience (she was right!)I met some amazing people who I hope will come visit me in Oz one day soon. I too was able to convince many travellers to take up the challange, stay on random couches, meet for coffee with a 'new' friend and live the life of a gypsy!

Interests

I love sports - soccer, tennis, volleyball and backyard cricket. The beach and the sand in my toes is what makes me happy...add a cold beer to the eqaution and it is a perfect day out. I love good food and plenty of wine, hospitality is my industry so I do my best to enjoy the different cuisines and service styles.

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes...I was a fan of Australia (the movie)! Atonement, Always Sunday, The Kite Runner, Burned alive were the last reads I have had! Music...bit of everything, when the music is right you cant keep my feet still.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my time in Lauterbrunnen Switzerland, I decided to bite the bullet and go paragliding! It was the biggest rush...I felt like a bird, so free.

My recent travels to Cuba and Central America has opened my heart and mind to the generousity that lives within strangers...I have been truely touched.

Teach, Learn, Share

Along my travels I tought English to those who had the desire to improve...even thrown in some priceless Aussie jargon which everyone should learn in their lifetime! I love learning new languages *the basics that is...so that I am able to communicate with the locals. I am good at sweing clothing and cutting hair...bit of a barter system I have started with other travellers through the years.
