Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Growing up in a small town in New Zealand, far away from my own family and people who looked or sounded like me, my family got by in the early years through the kindness of strangers. We never had much, but it was always enough. I've always tried to pay it forward and to share what I have, and the Couchsurfing community is a place where I feel these are shared values.
Above all else, I’m inherently curious and want to actually understand the places that I travel to. Staying with people who live locally is a wonderful way to connect with the culture and way of living.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I helped build and supervise the World's Biggest Waterslide for the Live More Awesome charity event (a foundation providing mental health services) in 2013 — we raised over $100,000 NZD. The slide was over 650m long and was dangerously fun to ride ;)
