About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To never settle for a life that only looks good on paper (I totally stole that, but it's my mission of the moment).
ABOUT ME
I don't like to wear shoes. :)
In truth, I'm living in Sweden, learning Swedish, watching lots of Project Runway and House, making a rug out of old jeans, getting super into crafting and cooking, getting pretty good at making substitutions from American ingredients into Swedish ones.
PHILOSOPHY
Always dive headfirst into anything and everything. Like "Yes Man". This is of course how I ended up dancing in front of several hundred customers at my job... ;) I'm always up for anything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By sharing our culture with others and learning from everyone we meet! :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I surfed my way around America this winter and met tons of amazing people all over the country.
I went to several CS events in Wisconsin (USA), including the largest corn maze in the country with the CS'ers in Chicago, and met up with a group on Halloween weekend for Madison's Freakfest on State Street.
I surfed my way around the US, from Salt Lake City in Utah to an Indian Reservation near the Grand Canyon. Met some people in Madrid also from the Groups, and have made some friends here in Stockholm as well through the site.
Interests
Travel. Cooking (and improvising because we never have the right ingredients!). Reading. Walking. Listening to music (I love music, but know nothing about it). Crafting. Pintrist (OMG, it took over my life).

Music, Movies, and Books
Right now I'm listening to the Decemberists, Bobby Bare Jr., Sugarland, Avett Brothers, Robbie Williams, Dashboard Confessional. I have eclectic tastes.
I was reading a couple of travel books on the Camino de Santiago in Spain. I'm going there one of these days! I'm also reading a book on giving up normal life for a life of Vagabonding. My favorite books of all time are A Wrinkle in Time and The Ancient One.
Movies? Goofy romances - 50 First Dates, Eternal Sunshine, Love Actually, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Vanilla Sky.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Great Wall (I zip-lined off of it). The Water Dragon Festival in Loudai (possibly the only tradition in China that's less than 10 years old...well, at the time). The Golden Gate State Park in San Francisco. Grand Canyon (AMAZING). Niagara Falls. Living in China. Walking the Camino.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could probably make you feel better about travelling, moving to, or living in China. The average Google search will make you feel pretty terrified to go there, but in reality it's an amazing and friendly place. I can also talk your ear off about the Camino if you're interested.
