About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"to discover the world, know other people and other culture "

ABOUT ME

I am a very positive happy person, who is willing to take from the bad experiences the good. I treat everyone as I like to be treated. I like constant change, I have to move, I need to breath new air, I worry when I have to worry. As to my actual personality, I love trying/learning new things and, of course, exploring. I want to meet interesting, clever, well travelled, funny, exciting people. BUT YOU WILL DO JUST FINE ; i am graduated in university ; i live alone wit my parents and two brothers. my aim in tis cs is to satisfy new friends who come to change everything and get new information....

PHILOSOPHY

First and foremost: nothing to hide, I'm an open book! I am a total non believer. I do respect people's choices but definitly request the same from others.
I consider myself a friend of animals, (have always had pets and now have two cats). I'm very active in animal/wildlife protection but have not been able to convert to becoming a total vegetarian.
Contrary to what I've just written I am a very easy gentlman to get along with, and I love meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since I wrote about my couchsurfing experiences a few years back I feel it important to add a sour note. In all of the years that I've partecipated (gladly) with the couchsurfing experience I've hosted many great people. I truly love doing it. On the other hand I've never been able to find a place to sleep when I requested a couch because people always seem too busy or unable to host, if they reply. Ninety percent of the time I've never even recieved an answer to my request or the replys arrived only when I had returned from my trip. I think it is important to note that answering requests is a courtesy and necessity and if you only want to host certain types of people please write that CLEARLY on your profile.

Due to all of this my outlook has changed but I am leaving my old insert just the same.
I've never couchsurfed before and have even shyed from staying with friends when travelling. I feel that times have changed and with my limited finacial possibilities this is a great way to loosen up with strangers in their own ambience. Just reading the profiles is fun in itself, some of you surfers out there are amazing people....If only this site existed when I was young. WOW!

Music, Movies, and Books

music;classic (Mahler, Mozart etc.) , opera especially - some contemporary rock; (i.e. Bjork, Coldplay (genius'), U2, Madonna, REM, beginning to enjoy the Editors), Leonard Cohen is my "soul mate".
Books; everything from 19th century Russian to essay-non fiction to light (Grisham etc.) lots depends on my mood and what I can find second hand. I've just finished reading "My Family and Other Animals" by Gerald Durrell, absolutely wonderful and will begin "The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas" for the second time (last time was in the 70's.
- I'm an avid book buyer and collector.
Movies - most of all well made movies, I'll see anything once...favorites are Italian masters (Fellini, Visconti, Sergio Leone, Bertolucci (some) etc..) all of Tarantino and most Spielberg and Ken Loach, to current U.S.A. films - I've just seen the movie "Vera Drake" by Mike Leigh, a true, little masterpiece, and what a performance by the leading actress, she well deserved her prize at the Venice Film Festival.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wow, this is a real big category. As I mentioned above I've really done a lot in my lifetime. I've travelled in every region in MORROCO, most warm climates.
My favorite city in the world remains to be New York City,

My life in itself has been one amazing "thing", there are too many episodes and too many great places I've seen to mention only one or even a few.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you are interested in (trying to)come to MORROCO to live, I can give you some tips on how this country and its people tick. It's not as easy as you think and can be frustrating more than enjoyable, but it is still one of the greatest and most beautiful countries in the world (I'm biased). By the way if you want to learn what MORROCO is really like and want to know more about its food read "Eating Up MORROCO, a fantastic book by a brilliant author.

Marrakech is clearly a large city divided into old quarters – the Medina – and the new town – Guéliz:
(1)-The focus of the whole city is Djemaa el Fna:a large open space full of entertainers and food sellers at the heart of the Medina.
(2)-the tour of the many gardens:These include the Jardin Majorelle, near Bab Doukkala, the Ménara, a large pool set in a large olive grove...
(3)-The Koutoubia:The Koutoubia is to Marrakech what the Statue of Liberty is to New York and the Eiffel Tower is to Paris.
(4)-The Souks of Marrakech:stretch immediately after Djemaa el Fna, along Rue Souk Smarine, a long, covered street. At the end of this street are two lanes: Souk el Kbir and Souk el Attarin – Follow the alleyways and you will discover small squares devoted to specific crafts and products.
(5)-Jardin Menara:The Menara is very popular with locals for picnics and tourists for its postcard-like image: its central pool and summer pavilions with a good view over the Atlas Mountains are a familiar picture on many postcards and brochures. The Menara Gardens are open daily from 8:00 to 18:00. Admission is free.
6)-Jardin Majorelle:is a small, meticulously planned botanical garden just off Avenue Yacob al Mansour. The garden bears the name of its creator in the 1920s, French painter Jacques Majorelle.
