About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To feel at home in any place, in any state.

ABOUT ME

Currently slaving on a PhD in cognitive neuroscience and applied clinical psychology, specializing in Sleep medicine. I love hiking and exploring the great outdoors. Although I don't aspire to be a musician, I love to sing and fill my life with song. Language is another passion of mine, and I like to think I have a good understanding of the history of language as well as speaking a few with differing levels of fluency.

PHILOSOPHY

Equanimity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've supported the project for a while and have been hosting with my roommates since 2008, but haven't maintained a profile very long. Now that I don't have a separate interface, it seems as though I should take things into my own hands. Hosting in New York is tough right now, but it's my hope I'll be able to host again someday.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met amazing people from all over the world. In three years of hosting I had only one bad experience. I love that surfing and hosting is a great way to support my language habit. I met a close friend of mine through couch surfing after she ended up stranded on my couch for a month!

Music, Movies, and Books

Fado, Rancheras/Mariachi, Skram, Metalcore, Black/Death Metal. Really, the entire Gamut of intense and horrible music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking eighteen classes in a single school year? Probably not. I once managed to find myself in the middle of an ancient Kachina relay ritual on First Mesa, AZ, while driving through the desert. Very unexpected. Very cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to meet activists, feminists and speakers of foreign languages (particularly the ones I'm learning to speak). I'm also interested in the fine art of dumpster diving. If you're into it, let's talk.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Mexico

Countries I’ve Lived In
