About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Traveling for the foreseeable future.. 42 countries so far, Europe for the Summer & Autumn of 2016
ABOUT ME
I grew up in upstate New York, went to a technical school where I learned a lot of things my grandmother never understood. Afterwards I worked for a consulting company writing software and later for some financial companies directly. After working, living and partying in NYC (likely too much on all 3 counts), I've decided my life needs something more than an office job and I've set off on my second around the world trip.
I don't smoke, am not allergic to pets (they usually like me, even the grumpy ones!)
Cheese is awesome!
PHILOSOPHIES
Why not?
Don't worry about things you have no effect on.
Leave the world better than you found it.
Do something you're proud of every single day.
Loving is much more productive than hating.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I'm traveling, surfing, playing, and otherwise experiencing as much of this world with the most amazing people I can find. Thankfully, CS helps greatly with finding great people, making the rest pretty easy.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I was pretty active back in '09-10 during my last world adventure. Since then I took a bit of a break, working too much, and now I'm back traveling again for '16 and beyond.. Hope to meet some great new people, share stories of my adventures, and find out more of the little secrets everyone knows of in their local area that guide books and tourists don't find on their own...

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I'll watch most anything, especially if I'm working as they keep me company. But favorites include: Empire Records, Almost Famous, Hackers, Lost in Translation, Dark Knight, and most of what Adam Sandler has had a part in.
Music: Definitely a preference towards electronic music, and away from music that depends on racial slurs for their core lyrics. Daft Punk, Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, John O'Callaghan, Menno De Jong.
Books: There's never enough time, or more accurately I end up spending my time elsewhere. Guess that comes from being a Gen XYZ'er.. When I'm traveling, @ the beach, or otherwise in a reading situation, Ann Rand, Blink, Photography magazines, Lonely Planet travel guides, and occasionally some global economics, politics, or other food for my brain.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been an electronic dance music fan for years, so Ibiza was truly amazing (Amnesia specifically). Daft Punk in Coney Island 2007 blew me away. Bal en Blanc in Montreal was the best white party I've been to.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Photography.. I've been a self directed student for the past 10 years focusing on events, nightlife, cities, and catching that moment when nobody's looking.
Learn: Everything. I still have the curiosity of a 5 year old, and want to know more about everything I don't already know. Debating differences is also enjoyable. Lately I've been focusing on debating for the side I'm against. To truly understand a topic, one should be able to argue against it.
Share: That which I've already learned. My Story, history, memories, ...
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook a bit, bartend a bit more, and so far nobody's died.. I have stories covering more than 3 years of adventures abroad. Tips and tricks for many metro and transit systems around the world.
I love to share the things I've learned. I've even helped a few folks with balancing their finances and coming up with a plan to achieve their goals in life (somewhat related to my former day job)
