getting through the last month before we head off!

ABOUT ME

We are a couple living several hours away from each other but travelling together. We both live in or around large university cities and enjoy intellectual conversation and discussions. We also enjoy beer, movies, and tidying up after ourselves when we stay over at friends houses ;)
Rebecca (who lives in a collective in the middle of Stockholm) is the main English-speaker, though Erik is quite good at English as well. Erik (who lives outside Linköping, but at the present is doing his military service in Skövde) is THE German speaker of the two of us. One language that we would have liked to be able to add is Swedish sign language, but then again, Erik never really learned it, and Rebecca has forgotten most of it due to lack of practise.

PHILOSOPHY

Since Rebecca is the only one of us with daily contact with the Internet she get's to write everything in our profile. So the contents of this box only reflects her.

My personal philosophy mostly consists of getting to "The next level" as soon as possible, which sometimes stopes me from just stoping for a bit to smell the roses. I want to accomplish so much that I more often than not miss a lot of fun that I could have. On the other hand, I get a lot accomplished! I try to get a different perspective of life, find what is really important, and here Erik playes an vital part as he is a lot more easy going than I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment all we are doing is looking for places to stay and offering to show people around, tell them a bit about our cities and help them find nice places to hang out and interesting places to go.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None, so far. Not including the many many nights spent on friends' couches of course ;)

Interests

Our interests are both alike and differ. We both like watching movies, and share soem parts of our taste in music. But, where Erik likes working out and training ju-jitsu, Rebecca likes knitting, and where Rebecca likes punk rock music, Erik mostly listens to Peter Gabriel, Bob Dylan, and various Synth-bands. Enough to keep us together, enough to make the other person interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
Rebecca really enjoys reading humorous science fiction/fantasy novels such as the writing of Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett. An other favorite is Alexander McCall Smith's series about the No 1 ladies detective agency.
Erik is a LOTR fan and have read the books over and over. At the moment he is reading a rather thick biografy on Julius Caesar, as ancient Rome is a big interest.

Movies:
We both really like Rocky Horror Picture Show, and we know all the songs. Most of our taste in movies is shared, even if we don't really, deeple love the same films. Erik's favorites include Boondock saints, Grosspoint blank and Higher Love.
Rebecca's favorites include Ghost world, Tillsammans ("Together", a Swedish film about a 70's collective), and Kill Bill.

Music:
Rebecca listens to Swedish punk rock, golden oldies and Frank Zappa, to mention a few categories.
Erik listens to Peter Gabriel, Bob Dylan, Welle Erdball (and other NDW), Zeigeist, Current 93 amongst other bands/artist.

Tv: we love Scrubs and Stargate. Cartoons, Midsumer Murders and the evening news are also freqvently watched.
