About Me

CURRENT MISSION

in pursuit of constant satisfaction.

ABOUT ME

OK then - it's been some time since I set up an account here, some things have changed and I gained some more CS experience, so it's time to update this brief summary.

so - what I am mostly trying to do with my life recently (let's say from end of 2010) is travelling. I don't have any special purpose with that, not a kind of sights explorer or crazy all-time-partying flashpacker. the essence for beeing in a different place for me is to find an alley that will treat me with a mood for a strong coffee and (sometimes) a cigarette, just sit and enjoy - that's it. I also truly enjoy hostel communities and socializing in common rooms :-)

usually I travel on a really low budget, and when I say low, it must be the meaning then. it's not the lifestyle obviously (but it may start to be when you do it too often), I just prefer to spend 6 months instead of 3 on the road. of course, I'm not pushing my limits as you think some people might do it - if I want to have an example beer, I have one - just choose a place where it doesn't cost double.

happily, I can do some travel-related job as well - to work on the guidebooks for a polish publishing house. updating and writing is what I do every summer since 2011 - both in the field and stationery. job of dreams - one would say. well, yes. a huge disadvantage is its project character though - no steady income for all year round.

I'm the type that likes to talk and am pretty fluent in English - just keep forgetting the vocabulary somewhere between 3rd and 4th beer ;-) unfortunately, if you want to talk about black and white polish music comedies produced between 1973 and 1975 (or similar) - I won't be the most sophisticated partner for such conversations. I think I'm more like a regular type.

I try to live just month after month, not thinking about the future too much - don't really know if it's worth it. a bit spontaneous and a bit of thinker - sometimes plan but sometimes wing it ;-)

PHILOSOPHY

there is this polish song by Myslovitz band - kilka uścisków, kilka snów (literally: a couple of hugs, a couple of dreams). there's a wonderful line to follow in the lyrics (will probably sounds cliche when translated).

to love everything, because everything is elapsing quickly

so - worth trying.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

surfing, CS meetings and other quickly arranged beer/coffee meetings. will also be hosting, but first have to settle somewhere down ;-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed couches in Turkey, India, Poland and Ukraine. there were also plenty of CS members that were keeping me company for an evening out - besides above mentioned, it happened in Serbia and Macedonia.

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: all the psycho and scary stuff + enjoyable TV shows

music: much into it, but not a follower of any specific genre. if it entertains, that's the spirit!

books: travel literature, especially good coverage stories from all over the world

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

South-East Asia backpacking experience, as you always remember your first one mostly.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my travel experience, which is fortunately getting bigger every recent year.

I have some good travel planning skills, so if you want to go somewhere, I can help with finding cheap plane tickets etc.

If you want to learn polish, which is said to be one of the most difficult languages currently existing, can also help a bit ;-)

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldova, Myanmar, Netherlands, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Viet Nam
