ABOUT ME

Well... I've spent most of my life in Springfield, MO. It's a pretty fantastic place where everything is cheap and comfortable... and the people are friendly and courteous (at least the locals are). My favorite part of any given day is putting a smile on someone's face... these sort of things are contagious! Hmmm... let's see... more about me. My occupation says Generalist Problem Solver... however right now I'm also a math teacher and graduate student in mathematics. For the most part, I'm trying to avoid area specialization... and have as much fun as possible. Oh... and I love the subtle art of conversation. I try to stay well versed in as many areas of knowledge as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

Okay... there are many. BUT... in the end, I agree with Kant on one particular result: The most satisfaction one can attain is acheived by living up to one's fullest potential.

I'd really like to get down to a life where the only posessions I have are the ones I'm willing to carry for the rest of my life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So... my involvement is for doing a full field test of the State of Nature Thought Experiment. I don't think the use of couch surfing will taint the results of my experiment in any way... but we'll see. One of my talents is for identifying systematc errors (all systems of all kinds)... I'd really like to go global. Although... I still have never been out of the U.S.... baby steps right?

Interests

Let's see...I love to cook. My specialties are breakfast, sandwiches, and mac n' cheese creations. I never make anything the same way twice... which might bleed into the philosophy section here because I like to think of each meal as a unique experience all of its own. If I'm staying on your couch, then I would be happy to give you a flavor experience like nothing else you've had before ;-)

What else? My new side hobby is the yo-yo.

I love encountering a problem or question that I've never encountered before... and then solving. These days my interests in problem solving (professionally) have moved to problems that remain unsolved (I'm currently 450 hours deep on one).

Music, Movies, and Books

Oddly enough... it's been all text books and technical manuals all the time for many years. I have a lot of friends that have serious problems with my personal philosophy of book reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not sure this is really the place for that sort of thing... I mean, I'm just not that kind of guy, haha. But, I'd be happy to tell you about it over coffee or tea or whatever the appropriate beverage is at the time.

Okay, how about this? I haven't missed a class in over 4.5 years.
