About Me

Hello everyone,
I like nothing better than wandering the world, meeting people and listening to their stories. I want to try all the different foods, drink something new, hear different music and see what’s happening in places I haven’t been before. I love wild places, open skies, mountains, beaches and tracks through the forest. But I also love back streets, graffiti, dingy bars, street food and things I don’t understand.
Mostly I’m wandering solo but sometimes with family or friends.
I once worked in the nongovernment community sector as a manager and have a passion for inclusive supportive communities. I am often studying when I’m not travelling because I am ridiculously curious about lots of things.
I spent four years travelling the Americas, ( South, Central and small parts of the USA and Canada.) For 6 months I drove an old van around central Australia. 2023 I spent 6 months in Europe, hiking the Kerry Way, the Italian Alps and the Peaks of the Balkans.
I travel slow, hitchhiking, volunteering, housesitting, camping and I’m very bad at planning because I always want to leave room for things to just happen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it’s fun, here’s a few of the things that couch surfing has gifted me: climbing Tajamulco in Guatemala; going to a wedding at Lake Louise Chalet in Canada; rock climbing for the first time ever, at night; going on beach picnics and seeing the albino kangaroos on Bruny Island; inviting a bunch of couch surfers from around the world to my Big Fat Vegas wedding; trying to learn to samba in Brazil; squid fishing in South Australia; cooking Ukrainian cakes in Colombia; going busking in Honduras; building a family shrine for Dia de Los Muertos in Mexico. Meeting hundreds of engaging, challenging, generous people and talking, sometimes for hours, about life, love and what makes the world go round.
