About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making our dreams to travel around South America come true.

ABOUT US

Hi everyone,

Fran grew up in Sevilla but his family moved to Lanzarote, Canary Islands, when he was 15. He lived in the island until he went to the University but still go there at least twice a year to visit his family. Due to his passion for travelling he decided to study tourism in Seville and he went as an Erasmus student in Germany.

Aurélie was born in France and spent her childhood in a small village close to Limoges in the Limousine region. She went abroad for the first time when she was 19 to spend the Summer as an au Pair in London. Then, she spent a year in Manchester as an Erasmus student and went volunteering in Peru for 3 months.

We met in Borlange, Sweden when studying the final year of our Tourism Master degree in 2010 and we fell in love. Since then, we have lived in Lanzarote, Edinburgh and London. We have also traveled extensively around South East Asia, USA and visited a few Caribbean countries.

PHILOSOPHY

The World is a book and those who do not travel read only a page.
Life is beautiful and we want to enjoy it as much as we can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Actually we left our shared flat in London to go traveling around South America, thus we cannot offer a couch to anyone.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When Fran was in Heilbronn, Germany, Uli hosted him for almost 1 month until he found a room to rent in the city. It was an amazing time where Fran was able to practise his German, party and meet some of his friends.

Amazed by his first experience, Fran introduced Aurélie to the couchsurfing world when we were traveling around South East Asia. We had simply the best time of our lives discovering the culture from the inside with wonderful local people.

Interests

We love travelling around, meeting people from different cultures, speaking about everything (even politics). Of course, as a good French and Spanish married couple, food for us is real pleasure. We are very curious of how people live. We like reading and listening to people. We think there is so much to learn from others and different cultures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fran did many things but one of the most special one was the Way of St. James or Route Camino de Santiago (he walked 900 km in 25 five days with his youngest brother). It was a wonderful time when he met many great people.

Then, our trip backpacking around South East Asia was probably the best experience of our lives.
