About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find a couch in Canada!

ABOUT ME

My name is Francisco and I love life and people. I find people fascinating and intriguing. I'm a very curious person and love to learning about how other people see the world. I also love sharing with people the insights and things I've learned in life. Life is fun and I love learning how to enjoy life more, it's an art :)

PHILOSOPHY

If you shift the way you look at life, life relates back to you differently. Opportunity, happiness, etc is a function or reflection of your point of view. When we give up our attachment to our point of view as fact we have freedom and power to create our life unhinged by the past.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once, in Canada back in 2007. Went there with my friends, were hosted by a really awesome and generous person (Marc). I was really surprised and moved to see how generous and trusting people were with strangers, it was a really cool experience.

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I visited San Diego with some friends. I ended up at a bus stop late with one my friend, where we ran into this fascinating stranger. Had one crazy conversation about life, he started basically completing the thoughts/questions/inquiry my friend and I had been having. Really trippy experience. No there was no acid or hallucinogenic mushrooms involved :)!

Other time was really personal, something really bad had happened but it opened up my eyes to the fact that it's not about what we have in life, it's about what we appreciate. And with that I felt this strong sense of LOVE for everyone I talked to that weekend, and I saw how powerful it was and how rare that sense of love usually is. It helped shape the way I move through life now and it's one of the things I am working on whenever I am out: spreading love and positivity to the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've had extensive training in coaching, which is essentially guided self-inquiry. Kinda like what Socrates did, come from curiosity, not knowing, asking questions and in the process people gain clarity on what they want. I also love and am great at devising a plan with people on how to most effectively go about achieving the goals they have for themselves where by acting on one thing they are actually helping forward and realize multiple goals.

What I'd like to learn is just different perspectives from people. Everyone brings their own knowledge and perspective to a conversation. I have friends who are historians, economists, professors, veterans, etc and from them all I get a new way of interpreting this thing called life.
