Overview
About Me
I like travelling for cultural reasons and to learn local languages. In the summer months I will be travelling with my husband, you can see him on the photo. He is Cuban and very much believes the same about travelling as I do, it will be his first time in Europe (or outside Cuba, in general, if you know a bit about politics you know that it is very hard to leave this island). If you read my profile you'll get a good impression of both of us. :) I speak English, German, Spanish, a bit of French and Swahili while he speaks Spanish and a bit of French as well.
I'm not picky with food or commodities, but love new experiences. After I leave a place, I try to keep good contact with my hosts and I'm eager to return the favor.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Not everyone has the luxury of earning enough to travel. I think that Couchsurfing is doing a big part to enable less more people to experience the luxury of seeing the world. I really believe that solidarity is important. That doesn't mean that i won't happily give a few € per night for running expenses, though.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm into many music styles: To listen on my own I prefer Jazz and (old) Reggae, as well as some rap. For parties, I'm all into afrobeats and reggaeton, the latter a remnant of my stay in Latin America :D
I have also learned quite some salsa (casino) and son, as well as a bit of bachata and like their music.
Concerning Abdoul, he is also a big audiophile, a bit more into Jazz and R'n'B as I am. He's also an amazing dancer so if you're up to a spontaneous cuban salsa class he's more than enthusiastic to help out.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once worked in a very remote village about two hours from La Paz, Bolivia, and i swear that I have never seen such an amazing view of the surrounding Andes.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am interested in a wide range of things, so I am sure we will find something to talk about; also I am convinced that you won't meet anyone else who can be that passionate about food production systems (seriously global food security is my thing) :)
I am also happy to share some of my language skills (for a few months, I have been working as a language teacher for German so get those questions out if you have any).
Abdoul is a great dancer and teacher, he has studied sports and if you are passionate about a sport you can be 99% sure he's enthusiastic about it as well. Then we are always happy to share our cultures with you as much as you want.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer you a good mood and nice talks, as well as coffee or tea in the morning and afternoon. I also love to share travel stories and love to learn about your culture. Also, my door won't stay closed if you decide to come around again someday.
