About Me
I'm very social and interested in learning new stuff all the time, I guess that's why I like traveling so much. Also crazy about almost every sport, the Olympic Games are like Disneyland for me.
In 2017 I quitted my job in Uruguay and went to Australia thanks to the work and holiday visa. Been there the whole 2018 with some short trips to New Zealand, Samoa, and Fiji. In 2019 I travelled around south east Asia and went back to Australia just before COVID-19 started, in March 2020. Was kind of locked in Australia until the end of 2023, when I left the country for good and back on the road of travels. I went to Vanuatu and India and came home for a few months. Now I'm heading to Europe for 3 months and then Africa, to what's probably the most challenging trip of all my travel life.
.........
I have a travel blog: www.dementeconmochila.com
Is not a typical travel blog full of guides and tips, is just a place where I write the stories I came up with. Also, love taking photos, so I give a lot to my Instagram account, which is also @dementeconmochila.
Recently I've started a YouTube channel, the idea is to keep consistently uploading videos but is not easy. That's why I always kind of need to chill, power up, and focus on my computer for a few days. I like to balance the adventure with the rest/work, also because I'm not 20 years old anymore and I can feel it haha.
My idea is to stay with locals, not only to save a few bucks but especially to learn about your culture and way of life. The times I did CS in the rest of Asia I had such wonderful experiences. For me CS is all about seeing the city/town from the local perspective, I don't care anymore about monuments and massive tourist places. I just want to listen to stories, try new food, and learn new languages.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
.
Basically, to meet people all around the globe. I love to stay with locals to get to know a place in a more genuine way. Also to discover those hidden treasures that only local people know. I'm not very fond of touristy and overcrowded places. What I like the most about CS is to expect the unexpected. The last time I met CS people in India I ended up in a wedding with local traditional clothing on me haha. Was brilliant!!!
Interests
Sports. I have played handball since I was 8 but also I watch a lot of football and basketball as well as other disciplines.
On the other hand, music it's a great part of me these days. I love to "discover" new artists and differents types of music. I also love going to see live music, in
When traveling I love to learn about the history and politics of the local country, as help me understand the society in a more integral way. I might ask many questions haha

Music, Movies, and Books
My Spotify is insanely eclectic. I go from cumbia, national folklore and rock and roll to jazz, reggae and any traditional music of any country.
I read a lot but I still have a million books in my bucket list. Nowadays I'm going a lot with Argentinean authors like Martín Caparros, Leila Guerriero, Eduardo Sacheri, Cortazar, Selva Almada, Tamara Tenenbaum but I still love Harry Potter. You never forget what really impacted you as a kid, eh?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Bunggy jumping in Chile. It wasnt that high (60 mt) but the experience was amazing. I'm looking forward to go some place in the world where I could jump higher.
I New Zealand I did the Nevis Swing, which was fu*¨king amazing!!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love sharing travel stories and that's probbaly why I developed a travel blog and YouTube channel. My mission I guess is to prove that people all over the world are 99% amazing and good-hearted but the other 1% are the ones with marketing impact. Trusting random strangers is my passion.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A nice talk, I'm very friendly and expressive. I love to hang out, drink some beers and talk about life for hours. In very curious as well so please don’t worry if I make too many questions. I'm always interested in the history and politics of a country, so I try to study a bit beforehand, but doesn't always work
