About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling to Spain and Portugal, learning about the places I pass through along the way.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm a human ecologist and fruit tree pruner who loves the outdoors, reading, and discovering new places. I'm off to a mini-adventure in Southern Europe for five months, doing some Workaway and otherwise following where fancy will take me. I'm also a climate activist, gardener and I enjoy writing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had some great experiences with CS during my half-year stay in Istanbul. I met somw wonderful people who really made me feel at home.

I love to get to know places and people in a more personal way! Meeting people along the way is easily the best part of traveling, makes it colourful, interesting and personal.

Interests

writing, reading, photography, hiking, travelling, yoga, kayaking, looking at the stars, having a garden, learning languages, being foolish, doing nothing in particular at a very advanced level

Music, Movies, and Books

I recently watched 'The Art of Being Human' by Helene Granqvist and in a small way it changed my life. I'm currently addicted to the Inspector Rebus series by Ian Rankin, which I love because it shows a different Edinburgh and the more gritty side of human life and minds in general.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing ny goddaughter for the first time was very special to me =)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach German and am pretty strong on German history, which I discuss from a highly partisan, rural East German point of view ;-).

I love to pass on yoga moves and basic qi gong and I'm a pretty good gardener. I enjoy sharing and discussing books that I have read, haven't read, plan to read.

Anything to do with climate activism and human ecology, also fruit tree pruning.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Recipes and cooking duties, gladly =)

I love to reminiscence about past travel adventures or discuss future travel options. I'm a keen hiker and am happy to pass on some of my best routes and experiences. Having lived in Scotland for four years, I can give you some really good hints on places to visit and things to experience off the beaten track. Same for Germany, of course!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Greece, New Zealand, Poland, Syrian Arab Republic, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
