About Me

I am active, interested in people and the world, I like to laugh, I like being in nature. I am someone who goes through life always ready to try something new. I want to explore the world without a schedule or a planned route, getting inspired by people and opportunities along the way. I am very interested to learn about sustainable living (permaculture, eco-friendly construction, etc.), and would like to explore these interests in different countries, cultures, and climates throughout my travels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is important because it allows people from all over the world to meet and learn from each other, helping break through cultural barriers and sterotypes. I also love it as an opportunity to experience new places from the perspective of people who live there instead of only as a tourist.

Interests

I love being outdoors and active, discovering new food, cooking together, working with my hands (fixing and building things, sewing, working in a garden, anything and everything - I love learning new skills), I also appreciate a couple quiet hours to curl up with a book and take a break from life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - classic rock, classical, and anything with a fiddle and accordeon. But my tastes in music are always changing and expanding. I love music I can sing along or dance to, and particularly enjoy live music.
Movies - comedy, fantasy, action, adventure... never horror. Favourites are difficult to say. Recently: Bon Cop Bad Cop (1 and 2), in general anything by Hayao Miyazaki, anything with Meryl Streep (love Mama Mia) and LOTR.
Books - Harry Potter, always. I don't have many favourites right now, but what I appreciate in a book is well written characters who I can get attached to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Left home when i was 16 to attend a democratic free-school in the U.S. and live with a host family. Will never forget the experience or the amazing people i met.
More recently hitchhiked from Russia to Estonia, crossing a border on foot for the first time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning from people who are passionate about what they do.
I am always happy to share my skills and interests with others when asked (but I will never attempt to teach an unwilling student!). I play classical piano and have a small fascination with music theory; I can do basic bike maintenance, I'm good with a sewing machine, and I enjoy making bread.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, England, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Russian Federation, Spain, Switzerland
