About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm from the UK though I now live in Montreal where I work as a translator. I like meeting other humans and seeing other places.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In 2015 when I moved to Montreal, I couchsurfed until I found my own flat, and my CS host became a great pal. I've also couchsurfed in Halifax, Bordeaux, and Gothenburg and met a ton of great people.
My favourite thing about CS is seeing the human side of the places I visit. CS lets you see a new place through the eyes of a local, you get to talk with people from all walks of life, hang out, have fun and memorable experiences, and usually end up with new friends.
Interests
I like wandering off, exploring, finding hidden alleyways and coffee shops, sketching, listening to accents, taking a different metro, people-watching. I write and draw and sometimes photograph. If I can swim somewhere outdoors, I will!
Hanging out with hosts and other travellers is always great - hearing stories, sharing experiences, going for a pint, walking/exploring, seeing the neighbourhood, having coffee, going dancing, etc. That said, I'm pretty independent and I'm more than happy exploring on my own, too.
I also write (short fiction and poetry) and take part in spoken word events. And I dance lindy hop!

Music, Movies, and Books
So many! Music: recently got more into electro/EDM/house, but also into indie, alternative, and weird British folk. Movies: international/indie cinema, anything Studio Ghibli, animations, and then a bunch of classics. Books: Ray Bradbury, Zadie Smith, Murakami, Paul Auster, and an ever-growing list of books I want to read - more women, more translated fiction, more minority writers - I always love suggestions! What should I read next?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Plunging into an ice-cold spring in the forest, in the summer evening light, with a pal in Ontario.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd be happy to talk in French with you. And I like learning about anything.
I love to share ideas, books, music, art, experiences.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Time, conversations, a laugh. I'll buy you dinner/a pint, and I'll share my drawings of your town :)
