About Me

Hey there! I'm Francesca, currently studying abroad as an exchange student in Nottingham, UK for the spring semester. I live in Santiago, Chile, but now I'm traveling through Europe. Wanderlust and serendipity are my favorite words.

I would probably describe myself as a weird mixture between being outgoing and introverted; which of them comes out depends a lot on who I am talking to and the topic -of course- we are discussing. I don't smoke and don't drink, absolutely love tea and chocolate and enjoy cooking a lot.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that the best way to travel and actually experience the real feeling and vibe of a place is to try to live like the locals as much as possible and what better way than couchsurfing! It is a great opportunity to be able to share with different people of different cultures from whom I think I could learn a lot and hopefully leave something in them too.

Interests

I love photography, specially black and white and mostly in any context. I enjoy cultural activities as ballet, theatre and opera but also love to go out to dance in a club or wherever! I'm passionate about volunteering, I've been doing it a lot for about 5 years now and is one of the best experiences. Also, I like hiking and landscapes but depending on when and where.

I've developed quite an interest in politics during my university years so it has become one of the topics I quite enjoy discussing. I love people with opinions in those matters too. We can agree or agree to disagree but I think there's always something to learn in these kinds of conversations.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies I like pretty much anything but horror and too-much-blood movies.
For books, I think one of my favorites is "El Tunel" by Ernesto Sabato. I enjoy also a good police/detective thriller or old fashioned romantic stories.
I listen to a lot of different music so I do not have an absolutely favorite gender. I like rock, pop, indie, R&B, Jazz to mention some.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've built houses in volunteering programs in Chile, also I have had the opportunity to lead some of those programs. I think that the most amazing thing you can aspire to do is to change somebody's life. I'm trying to go for that.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn knew stuff, mostly about photography, knitting and traveling, but I'm willing to learn a bit of whatever someone may be passionate about.
I don't know if I can teach much, probably could help with your spanish or a couple of recipes I like.
Mostly, I want to share experiences and adventures that you or I may have had somewhere in the world. Share what we love or what make us vibrate.
