My name is Francesca, I am 21 and I am from Tuscany, in Italy. I live in a little village in the countryside, really close to both the centre of Pisa and the seaside. I think that all these kinds of environment reflect a part of my personality.

I am studying at the local University of Modern Languages. At school I have always studied English, French and Spanish and since September 2014 I have started learning Russian, because I consider Russian culture really interesting.
I love getting to know new cultures, new lifestyles and people. I always hope to meet people that can inspire my life and make me see things more positively.

From September 2016 to February 2017 I will be studying at the University of Manchester as an Erasmus student. I came to the UK to improve my English and to travel all over the country as much as I can.

I want to meet different local people in each town I visit, to have a deep bond with my hosts in order to share their culture and lifestyle completely.
I am an easy-going person, I am able to adapt to every situation, so the activity of couchsurfing seems to me the perfect way to take advantage of my personality and my passion for travelling.

I love travelling and meeting lots of people from different parts of the world.
I would like to share with them my passions and discover their cultures.
I am very good at cooking and I also like eating all kinds of food.
My other hobbies are movies, art, learning foreign languages, sport. I love animals, too, especially cats.

Musica, film e libri

I do not have a favourite kind of music, movie or book. I like to experience many of them, I always accept new suggestions even though I am more attracted by rock music, comedies with a bittersweet moral, adventures and romances which hide an atmosphere of dream and positivity.
Movies that I consider inspiring are 'Forrest Gump', 'The secret life of Walter Mitty', 'The Truman Show'.
I like reading great classic masterpieces of English and Russian literature, that I chose to broaden and analyse also at University.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

In summer 2014 I went on a journey by train, called Interrail, with two friends of mine. We saw different parts and cities of Europe, starting from Budapest, then moving to Vienna, Berlin, Amsterdam and Marseille.
I met lots of people from all over the world, visited beautiful cities and discovered particular aspects of each country.

I think it is important to be open-minded and ready to accept new experiences and knowledge in your life. People we meet can be perfect life masters who can teach you, also inderectly, the joys and pleasures of everyday situations.
I hope to be interesting and inspiring for the others, too, thanks to my spontaneity and kindness.
These aspects of my personality are useful also in the career that I hope to pursue, that is teaching at school. I like to stay with young people and be a point of reference for them. I like to teach Italian, my mother tongue, as I have already practiced in my hometown during volounteering experiences or trainerships with foreign people.
So I am available to share my passion for languages with other couchsurfing members, teaching them a bit of Italian and, of course, improving my proficiency in their language.
