Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've heard about couchsurfing from a friend who have done this experience, and he was just so excited about these people he's met during his travels so I thought that would actually be the best way to get to know people and maybe even find so good friends along the way that I could return the favor of hosting in my house, and then lets be hosten who wouldnt love to travel cheap and meet good people to spend some time with?
