About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Francesca, I live in a small town on Lake Garda, in northern Italy. I am 25 years old and I am currently attending the first year of a master’s degree in “Psychology for Training and Professional Development” at the University of Verona. I decided to start this course of study because I am very interested in knowing how our mind and the mental mechanisms underlying certain behaviors. Similarly, psychology is helping me to improve myself as a person. I hope to acquire the necessary skills to help people solve their problems and feel at ease with themselves and others. This is one of my current goals. I am also fascinated by art in all its forms, such as painting, theater, dance, music; and I'd like to learn how to use this tool as a form of therapy, integrating it with what I'm studying.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like traveling both in groups and alone. I decided to join CS because I believe it is a wonderful opportunity to enter the reality of the places I visit. The stories and lives of the people you meet are a precious source of personal enrichment. I believe that such an experience also represents a unique opportunity to reflect on our culture and become aware of our traditions. The possibility that CS offers is to live the place you visit through the voice and life of other people; moreover, it is an experience of personal growth because it allows you to expand your mental horizons and perhaps even to question some of your own preconceptions.

Interests

I love being in touch with nature and I look for it wherever I am. I like doing sports and experimenting with new disciplines. In recent years I have discovered the pleasure of running and I practice it quite regularly. Other activities that I practice less frequently but which I want to repeat are windsurfing, climbing, tennis and skiing. I also like the juggling I use to pass the time. Even the theater is an artistic expression that I find really fascinating, in the past I participated in an alternative theater seminar, while this year I would like to attend a theater improvisation course. I really like those disciplines that help develop awareness of one's body, like yoga, meditation and slackline.

I am a curious and sensitive person. I like being in company, exchanging thoughts and ideas, laughing and joking. I really like listening to music (I don't have a favorite music genre, it always changes based on my mood) and dancing. One thing that really relaxes me is to draw, perhaps sipping a hot herbal tea.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Unfortunately I don't live alone yet, so I can't always guarantee a sofa or a bed for travelers. In any case, if you were in the area of the lake, I will be happy to have a drink with you and give you advice on places to visit.

If I had the luck to be welcomed and share a part of my journey with someone, I would be more than happy to cook some Italian specialties and tell stories of my country.
