Overview
About Me
hija del universo y ciudadana del mundo, I move around a lot, I value empathy and compassion, I think that we're all connected and that society makes us forget that sometimes. I think that non violent communication and active listening are both very important.
I drink a lot of tea and listen to a lot of rock music.
I'm fluent in English and Spanish and I love opportunities to practice my Spanish, meet new people, hear new perspectives and learn new skills.
I'm a trained yoga teacher just starting my journey guiding others, and always happy to practice with someone.
I like to cook and share meals.
here in Oxford you can usually find me cycling along the river, or swimming in it! I love wild swimming anywhere I can.
I love to sing, and welcome any attempts to teach me to play an instrument!!
I like to dance, recently I've been getting really into pole dance.
I find it hard to talk 'about me' but I think I'm a calm person and a good listener, I know I have some interesting stories to tell, I find it hard to commit to places or things but I like to take care of the people around me.
Put me near the ocean or a few wise looking mountains and I'll be endlessly happy.
I also like writing and I put stuff here http://evaluna-4.tumblr.com/
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
With Couchsurfing each of my experiences has been entirely unique, and memorable, I have met individuals that I connected with immediately and who felt like soul mates, I have also met people who I have disagreed whole heartedly with, and I have felt intimidated at times, but each of those journeys has taught me more about myself and about people, how we feel, how we interact, how we are each so strange and different but also that we will always have our feelings and our emotions in common. I think it's one of the best ways to travel, to throw ourselves entirely into trust and into community.
Just a little side note because I have put up with my fair share of bullshit whilst travelling (alone and with others) - I'm not here looking for dates or sex. It's una mierda that travelling often feels way more dangerous for women/femme travellers. In fact it can feel more dangerous for many groups of people who aren't straight middle class white men. I feel like there's the potential for the CS community to dismantle these harmful underlying systems and create safe spaces for all the beautiful wandering souls who want to explore and find connection. I feel like, let's do better and make a fucking commitment to that!
Interests
I like to experiment with plant based food and cook for friends.
I used to be an english teacher, and these days I'm looking to get back into education but in a more person centred way - specific things I'm interested in are forest school type set ups, yoga for young people, and also sex positive/sex education for all ages.
I like music and going to live shows and festivals.
I like trying different kinds of yoga and movement.
I life model sometimes, and love opportunities to draw too!
I am always looking for practice/knowledge around growing food and gardening in general.
Feeling like I'm close to nature is really important for me so I struggle in big cities sometimes.
I'm really interested in alternative education as a way to heal society.
I sing in a band sometimes and write my own songs but I lack the commitment to properly learn any instruments.
One day once I sort myself out I'd like to have my own land somewhere, grow my own food, depend on very little energy, use a compost loo, a solar shower, and be self sustainable as much as possible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent most of 2020 (a difficult time for all of us) surviving in a broken down old van in a muddy field in Oxford England. The van wasn't converted apart from a bed and a camping stove, so during lockdown I had no regular place to wash, no fridge or heating, and I was mostly completely alone apart from the field mice, geese, and horses nearby. I managed to find work in a local food shop and feed myself and find friendship there, and sneak out for wild swims off my sisters boat - these things kept me sane!
surprise wild camping and daily hikes around Ilha Grande in Brazil, my ex and I had about 50 reais between us and ended up wandering around the island for around 3 weeks after a holiday job fell through. We missed Christmas because we forgot what day it was, lived off of oats with coconut water and plastic bag week old potato salad, and swam with fishes, a lot.
10 Day Vipassana Meditation course in Brandsen, Argentina. I took a vow of noble silence and spent 10 days practicing a very particular sort of meditation, in the most beautiful green meadows surrounded by beautiful souls. It was a very personal journey and one of the hardest things I have ever done. It filled me with love for everyone and everything.
And life on a narrow boat on an English canal was a soulful, and meditative experience :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to learn an instrument, a language (specifically Catalan, Portguese, Arabic), a recipe, about eco construction, gardening, your favourite books and films and music, your favourite memory, the things that make you smile.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my stories, friendship, good food and a safe space free of judgement to just be yourself.
I can teach yoga and lead you in Nidra or guided meditations, I can share recipes (the best banana bread in the world), thoughts, compassion, good music, and travel stories.
I can teach you simple origami, English, Spanish, how to dance cueca, a few chords on the ukulele. I can share some pretty great films and music. and herbal tea (so much herbal tea)
