About Me

I live with my daughter and two cats; from time to time my old mother and her dog join us: in such a case I prefer not to host anyone.
In general I am a quiet person, fond of my work and of caring of my teen daughter. I teach maths and physics to 14 -18 students and I am definitely busy during the school year.

When possible (on holydays) I take the chance of travelling around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I spent time abroad taking language courses I did enjoy meeting people from different nationalities so, when a collegue of mine told me about the couchsurfing practice, I decided to join this group.

Since then I haven't surfed yet due to different causes. I hosted people twice and I enjoiyed it a lot: Aurelia and Alessandro were very nice and it was a plesure for me to get to know them.

Interests

I have different hobbies and they change according to my interests of the moment.
In the last 3 years or so I spent my free time mainly reading, doing yoga, taking pictures, writing and going for walks. I also like to visit new places, with my daughter and/or with friends or even alone. I love hiking, biking, driving the car or taking the train to get to the intended destinations.

I like cooking too, but with a sort of oscillating interest. I've become vegetarian a few years ago and I am fond of tasting and making new dishes, when I feel in the mood for it or when I have time enough to dedicate to it.
Occasionally I go out in the evening with friends for dinner or to the cinema. Besides being interested in visiting pictures galleries or science museums, I've started to take care of a rented vegetable garden.

I am a Linux fan, particularly an Ubuntu user.
I've been a CLIL teacher for 5 years and I like when possible to dialogue with teachers with the same interests.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to keep up on practising English and I'd be very glad if I could find the time to learn another language.
In the past I took a German course for beginners and, when in Spain, I tried to speak and, most of all, to read books in Spanish.
Unfortunately I find difficult to have time and /or energy to take a new language course during the working year ... but I would be very glad if I succeeded in doing it.

Two of my next goals are 1. to take a 10 days Vipassana meditation course. 2. to learn to read music and practise on keyboards as to become (hopefully) able to accompany my daughter at cello

What I Can Share with Hosts

For the moment I would say to share a reciprocal easy going meeting.
