About Me
Born and raised in the North of Italy. It took me 25 years to realize that there's a world of opportunities out there but to take them you have to step out of your comfort zone... so I stepped out and crossed the ocean. I'm curious to see what life has in store for me. I'm not afraid to change direction and become somebody else. The idea of finding something about me that I still have to discover thrills me.
Every step is important.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After years of not doing "things" because my friends didn't want to join me for one reason or another, I found out that travelling by myself is not such a bad thing. It's a challenge and a way to meet new people and make new friends, while really experiencing how it's like to live and share.
Interests
Art lover, but I don't take myself too seriously.
I love to get lost in a city. I think there's no better way to discover new things that exploring without a map. Walking in a wood gives me thrills. Walking in a city makes me dream.
I love taking pictures as much as I love deleting them because they never feel good enough as the things and the places I've seen.
Music, Movies, and Books
I consider myself pretty much an omnivorous when it comes to music. I like to discover new sounds, singers, bands. Always looking for "that" songs that makes me feel something. It seems that I have a thing for irish and english singers though. My ultimate test for a new friend is to go through their playlists to find new songs that I don't know. I've tried really hard to dislike Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber's songs (and I still don't like them) but I sometimes find myself humming their tunes without even knowing when I learned the words. I love concerts. Any concert. There's something magical in live music.
I love black humor movies and the historical ones (even when they are not so accurate). I can probably quote the whole Gladiator movie. The soundtrack of that movie gives me goosebumps (and Russell Crowe too-he's always gonna look like in that movie to me). I grow up with the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings books and movies, so somewhere not so deep inside I'm also a huge fan of fantasy.
Can't really decide if I like modern literature but there are always good exceptions. I love well written pages where words still have a specific meanings. I was a better reader in my childhood but I'm trying to make up at that. Nowadays I mostly read guides or books about specific topics, the kind of books that tell you everything you need to know about weird questions, like the myths related to trees and flowers or why people started to believe that our future it's written in the stars. I'm obsessed with anthropology and every skull related book.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walked in the middle of the 5th Avenue at 4:45 in the morning. I've seen at least one sunrise in every city I've visited. Broke through the fences and spent the night in a cave used as a cemetery 4000 years ago. Saved a life. Jumped from a plane in Las Vegas. Seen the sunset in the Grand Canyon.
Teach, Learn, Share
After living with people with serious food allergies and a deep appreciation for chicken nuggets and hot dogs I can't wait to cook again and have proper meals. So if you'd like to share your kitchen with me, I'll be overjoyed to share my cookings with you.
