About Me

Hello everyone!
I am a twenty-ish Italian guy, born and grown here in Vicenza, Italy. My main interests are three, and, unfortunately, they are quite incompatible with each other.
I have been a scout for the majority of my life and I loved it. I still enjoy mountain walking, camping, open-air life but most of all building stuff with simple tools. Occasionally I still have some "remembrance" of this old part of my life during summer camps where usually I volunteer as a cook for my old scout group.
On the other hand, I'm also really passionate about computer and IT in general. Since middle school but mainly later during high school it has been really clear to me the path I want to follow. In particular, in the last few years, I loved studying advanced algorithmics and operation research stuff. In the future, if I will prove smart enough, I want to continue my studies with a Ph.D., but for now, I'm focusing on ending my master's degrees in the best way I can.
Finally, my third interest (the last came chronologically) is parkour. I have always been an active guy (tried different sport during my childhood), and before parkour, I practice pole-vault for some years, however without that real "fire" inside me. Five years ago I started practicing parkour and I loved it since then. Now, in my spare time, I'm also an instructor at the parkour association that we have here in Vicenza. I have also an IG profile that sometimes I remember to update, nothing special only some simple personal achievements: https://www.instagram.com/francescocava95/

Well, these are the main pieces of my life, and for a short summary of me should be enough, surely I will be glad to supplement this with much other information if interested ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be honest, I have no expectation about this website, and I didn't know its existence until some days ago.
I was struggling to find a place to stay the first days of my Erasmus period while searching for a room to rent. A friend just suggested me this website and the more I learned about it, the more I was positively impressed by this platform and how all of this work, so I decided to give it a shot and, well, here I am, hoping it will turn out as good as it seems to be!

Teach, Learn, Share

As I said I am a parkour instructor here in Italy. Despite the appearance, parkour suit up almost everybody since it fundamentally based in overcoming our limits. In other words, it is much safer than it looks because we decide where to put the limit. If interest I surely can introduce to some basic stuff on "how to not break yourself" and train safely. From there, the journey begins ;)

In the past eight years, I worked also as a tutor for some high school student, teaching (well, repeating what they already should have been seen in class) math, physics and programming lessons. If for any reason this could be useful, well, I will be glad to help!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Besides the simpler works as cleaning and do simple everyday fixes that clearly I can help with, I have gained some expertise in cleaning, setting up and fixing in general Windows and Linux computers, so before going to a specialized shop (and spend a lot of money usually for simple stuff) I can give it a look and suggest accordingly, or, if it is not too risky, fix it myself.

Countries I’ve Visited

Croatia, Morocco, Spain, United States
