About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I wanna dance

ABOUT ME

I am very active and curious. I love sports and above all skiing!!! I love new things and often get caught up and addicted to new activities or interests whether it's cycling or yoga or horror movies of the 1960s or trying all the beers of Europe or....
I try squeezing every drop of juice out of all situations and still look for more. I love and crave interesting and fun people. And chocolate mousse. And the mountains. And a great party. And... and... and...

PHILOSOPHY

Dance until your feet hurt.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I joined a few years ago I've been spreading the word like the gospel. I've convinced at least 5 people to join and counting. Many more to come I promise :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had one of my favourite couchsurfing experiences recently hitch hiking from Berlin to Prague for a weekend with a friend. It was a last minute decision to go and so we hadn't booked any accommodation. It took us two days to reach Prague having to spend the first night in Dresden. In both cities we posted a last minute notice on emergency couch groups and both times we were met with wonderful kindness by really nice people. They showed us around town, took us out for parties at night and shared great stories. I think a lot better than any 5 star hotel no?
CS rocks!

Interests

SKIING!!!!
Also climbing, football, gymnastics and parkour, yoga, eating chocolate and drinking beer (not at the same time though), rock music, electronic music, classical music, dancing a lot and at every possible opportunity, slacklining, recording my voice telling stories, learning languages, trying my hands at new things that you know and love and I don't yet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I cycled solo for 1500km in the Himalayas.
That was quite amazing....
Stuck on endless roads north of Delhi for long rainy days; pushing and dying up the first few meagre little hills; "why the f*** did I buy a stupid f***ing bike in Delhi?"; monkeeyyyyss; eating 50 rupee Thali (1€) breakfast lunch and dinner everyday; meet other stray cyclists and embracing them like brothers and sisters; learning to love the burning thighs of the ascents; flying like the wind at a million miles an hour on descents; sun; rain; snow; stop before the storm comes - phew!; dodging hooting Tata trucks; "NAMASTE!!" to everyone; "no more road ahead - it dissapeared with the land slides..."; stealing apples from the orchards; wearing down my brakes; lush green; Manali!!; short break; and then on; drinking from the streams; mud; sand; gravel; stones; sometimes (but rarely) beautiful wonderful tarmac; pushing through cold deserts; stranded for a day - bad weather; play cricket with road workers; and on; offered food by a goat herder; last pass; flat tyres; Leh in sight - "JULLAY!"; the end.....? Naaaaaa :) why stop now - lets go on!!!; Khardung La!; "where the hell is the top?"; finally get there; backflip at 5600m; yaks; race down; Spiti valley; Golden Buddah; and on and on and on and on and on....
Cycling rocks!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can ski quite well... and I like climbing. I studied maths. And cooking a good risotto is a standard!
I love to learn. German is my current project. But also any sport or anything else that someone has great passion for. I'm easily won if I see fervor in someone's eyes - I will want to try it too!
Share as many stories as I can. I have a few :)
