ABOUT ME

Loving life in Humboldt! Been frolicking in the redwoods for about 6 years. Originally moved here to pursue sustainable technology at HSU- but, as it does, my life took a couple turns!

I have a beautiful son that is 3 years old.. and he is a major focus of my life. As I work from home- making jewelry- I get to spend quality time with my son, and my beautiful partner.

I enjoy yoga, learning about Ayurveda, reading, walking, mushrooming, wild foraging in general... herbs... painting... anything creative really! Love earthen building- super interested in sustainable living! Dreaming of living with my family on a suitable farm someday with other likeminded people... but for now we are very happy in our forrest retreat ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to "couch surfing"- the web-site... though I have slept on many a couch- and have had MANY people come stay on my couch over the years! Just not through this web-site :)

My partner has been surfing for about 5 years- and has met so many amazing people... looking forward to participating!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All over! I have stayed on couch's allover Washington, Oregon, California, and Hawaii mostly...

Welcomed many to my couch- friends- as well as people that I met through people (new friends)... Always love meeting new people!

Interests

Interested in many things... really anything "interesting"

Herbalism, good food, yoga, Ayuerveda, mushrooms, bugs, kids, swimming, hiking, bikes, bon-fires, fire poi, hoola hoops, brightly colored anything, beadwork, leather, sewing, painting... really creating in general.... open to all sorts of new experiences!

Music, Movies, and Books

Documentaries.... anything that gets me thinking.. love conspiracy- even if far-fetched... not a conspiracy nut- just think that thinking outside "the box" is always important!

Reading.. I love to read.. have many books I have been intending on reading... or have read about half of- but having a 3 year old- I find I have not finished a book in awhile!

Though... when I do read... love Tom Robbins (though I hear he is a jerk)
and.. TC Boyle... also really enjoyed thoughts behind writings such as- Omnivores Dilemma, and Botany of Desire... love looking at travel books- particularly of India

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Na Pali Coast... first thing that comes to mind.

Hiked the 12 miles of the Kalalau trail this summer (2011)... on the magical island of Kauai, Hawaii...

Super challenging and empowering... difficult and amazing.Soooo worth the efforts to make it to the Kalalau Valley- and experience every step along the way.

The images... breathtaking views of that hike are engraved in my brain forever!

Teach, Learn, Share

Love to walk through the woods behind our house and share the ever growing mushroom knowledge we are gaining..

Recently joined the Humboldt Mycological Society... making leaps!

Also, have some yoga teacher training, and have been practicing for about 9 years.. always fun to practice and share!
