Hey! I'm a 25-year-old American (not a Trump supporter, don't worry!) currently on a working holiday visa in Australia. For about 5-ish months, I lived in Sydney, working as an au pair and also part-time at a restaurant. However, it's time for me to move on from Sydney and explore more of what this amazing country has to offer!

I’m currently traveling down the east coast, from Cairns to Sydney, with my friend Ellen. We plan on hitting up all the major stops but are also interested in exploring some more “off the beaten path” locations.

Back home, I used to work in the music industry for a bit and spent a summer traveling across the US, living in a tent, and working music festival contracts. After that, I ended up getting a “real job” in marketing, hating it, and quitting to solo travel in Europe. And now... I’m here! Still not totally sure what I want to do when I get back home... but trying to live in the moment and embrace the unknown.

Some of my interests include live music, weight lifting, muy thai/kickboxing, hiking, cooking, and photography (very very amateur but trying to learn). I'm also eager to learn to surf and play beach volleyball while I'm in Australia, so if you're into either of those things, I'd love to join you! Or try to anyway, haha! I love a good night out, but I'm usually just as happy on the couch with a glass of wine, watching Netflix.

Overall, I'm pretty laid back and easy to get along with! I don't smoke, LOVE animals and kids, pick up after myself, and am a decent, respectful person.

I'm new to couchsurfing, but I think it will be an awesome way to meet new people, become more immersed in local culture, and make friends from all over the world! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy staying at hostels and meeting fellow backpackers, but I'd love to meet more locals and get that experience, too.

Music: Alternative rock, classic rock, jam bands (they're really only big in America, apparently), edm, and rap/hip hop. Basically anything but country honestly. If we can talk about music and/or jam out together, you will seriously become my best friend.

Movies: I love Tarantino films, and some other favorites include Donnie Darko, Moulin Rouge, American Psycho, and Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Books: Currently reading the A Song of Ice and Fire series! (I’m obsessed with the show, of course.) Just finished the first book and can’t wait to start the second (if I can find it at a decent price here, lol).
