About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just moved to Vancouver with my boyfriend to study at UBC, looking to meet people to enjoy the nature and the city and hopefully find some real friends in the process

ABOUT ME

I am a fairly confused young person still trying to figure myself out. I travelled the world for a year and a half when i was 19 and thought i had it figured out, then was totally confused when i reentered the 'real' world.
Now I try and live day to day and i am happiest when i'm in the moment, being real with other people and doing things for the sake of doing them. Being 'in the zone' is my favourite place, but difficult to get to. I try to study for the sake of learning and try to sing for catharsis but like most mortals I get distracted by hopes of glory. At the end of the day, other people are the most important thing to me. I just want to get along :)

PHILOSOPHY

this is a little wisdom i picked up from a cheesy calender in india:

"the life you live will soon be past, but the things you do, for love, will last"

and no matter what your situation, when you are open to novelty and receptive to the world around you, you can trust that life will be generous in the end

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the past CS has been a way for me to have a personal, sociable and cheap experience whilst travelling and when I am able to, to host others in order to give back. At the moment I am unable to host so i'm using CS to meet new people and try new things through groups and meet ups :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

all have been wonderful, positive experiences! i'm a couch surfing convert!
I stayed in new york city for a month moving between couches, learning something new about the city and myself in every different place.
no better way to travel.

Interests

writing songs, riding my bike around the city, cycle trips, dancing how i feel to live music, singing how I feel, singing opera, being outdoors, trekking and adventuring.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is difficult.

Hmmm… cycling from London to Amsterdam when I was 18 was a significant event for me. It was the first step in the realisation that I CAN DO ANYTHING!!!

It led me to the countless experiences which followed and which repeatedly took my breath away!

just a few…
Setting up an after school centre in Namibia
Scuba diving with HUGE manta rays
Climbing up to 5700m at dawn to see the sun rise over the Cordillera Blanca
Living with a shaman:)
12 hour truck ride sitting on sacks of potatoes
relaxing in hot springs as it snowed after trekking for hours, high up in the Himalayas
Meeting the dalai lama

And everything inbetween

Teach, Learn, Share

I think every experience is an opportunity for growth, we'll have to see what happens....
